I'm 30mins in. It's kind of dark tonally. Kori and Saeko(especially) aren't hot enough. Not too sure about the lead yet. He kinda gets the silly aspect but the shift to sincerity that the anime pulls off is missing so far. Also WHERE IS THE FUCKING MUSIC YOU FUCKS?!?

No. the French movie had perfect casting. It really is the only good live action anime adaptation in history for a reason.

Just finished it.

1) It's pretty good for what it is and the budget they had
2) needed more humor to balance the dark makimura/kaori plot
2d) needed more scooby doo slapstick in the fights
C) needed the animu music throughout instead of an entire movie of shit stock music and then OG OST as the credits roll.
&) female cast was decidedly meh

It never really had that City Hunter feel I get from the anime and the French movie but it also wasn't full of agenda berries.
