Zoomers will never know that it would take 6 months for a film to go from theaters to tape. There was an actual incentive to go see a film because otherwise you’d be waiting up to half a year. Nowadays it typically is a month and a half.
Some examples
>Jurassic Park came out June 9th, 1993 didn’t come out on video till October 4th, 1994
>Aladdin came out November 11th, 1992 didn’t come out on video till September 23rd, 1993
>Titanic came out December 19th, 1997 didn’t come to video till September 1st, 1998
As years went on, DVDs did shorten the release date a bit but it still was a waiting period.
>muh piracy
But how many regular people pirate? If we had a longer wait time for films to be released people may feel incentive to go see it sooner

And that is still too much, it's should be released on the same day
>B-b-ut muh theaters
Why would you pay to watch a movie with niggers next to you ?
