What are the best dinosaur movies? I'm a fan of One Million Years BC (1966).

Planet of the Dinosaurs. The amateurish acting somehow makes it more fun.

Agreed, though it did have a barely clad Barbara Bach so it was at least as good eye candy as OP (which also a bad movie).

Gwangi is fascinating for me as an Italian.
The Abisso ("Abyss") story of Tex Willer, an italian west and occasionally west fantasy comic out since the 50s (to this day!) had an episode in which the heores face dinos in lost caves underground. This specific story is from 1960.

I presume the main inspirations for the Tex comic were The Lost World by Doyle and the Journey to the Center of the Earth by Verne, but is funny for me to see another Colt+Winchester vs Dino story from the 60s.

AFAIK there is another similar movie, The Beast of Hollow Mountain, 1956. Perhaps both the Tex story and Gwangi were inspired by that.

For some reason, I wrote "west" instead of "western" but I presume it was clear enough from the context.
