>>200697331IIRC, the original cut featured her character a lot more in the first half of the film, and had her as this terrible caretaker who didn't give a fuck about the two kids and/or gave them a lot of shit for no reason. This big, long death was meant to be a kind of karmic thing. But then in the editing room they cut this subplot out, presumably to get to the dinosaurs quicker, yet they left this harsh prolonged torture/death scene in. So in the final film, it just comes across as this PA who isn't really bothered about her job but otherwise unobjectionable getting a ridiculously cruel death for no real reason.
