If you look at Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, and Mulholland Drive, it's clear that Lynch is fond of using his work to reflect on the 1950s of his boyhood and particularly on the films of that time. Those films had no blacks in major roles, so neither does Lynch's surrealist reinterpretations of them.It's also because he hates black people.
