>Makes over a billion>Despite streamingDoes this put the final nail in the "B-But it flopped due to streaming!" cope that people used for Dial of Destiny and Furiosa?
>>200744779so taking your kids to the theater is still tradition? i dont get it, youd think adults would be the ones that want the theater experience and for kids movies you just pop it on for them while doing dishes
>>200744779I don't care if it made 700 billion used tampons. It looks like shit so I'm not watching it and I will be jerking off to the porn.
>>200744779Children were not asking their parents to take them to DoD or Furiosa.
>>200747660>>200746653Okay, why didn't kids want to see Strange World?
>>200748267It was too strange.
>>200748315But seriously, why do most woke movies fail then?
>>200748267>>200748315Light Year also bombed which was proof that not everything Toy Story related prints money.
>>200748267Ugly, bordering on hideous, character designsGrotesquely oversized nosesGeneric mobile-game tier purple wacky 'alien' artstyleInsufferable looking playdough-gender main characterBoring premise, bizarrely unimaginative titleNo marketingShamelessly blatant DEI/LGBQT slopDevoid of soulBeyond that, the premise clearly didn't immediately captivate people. Toys secretly come to life, what if bugs had a society, what if scary childhood monsters worked in a big organisation, what if the emotions in your head were people, what if a family were all secretly superheroes etc.Simple high-concept premises generally seem to work better for animated movies, which is hardly surprising given the target audience.I haven't watched Strange World, and will never, but who the fuck knows what it's supposed to be about just from the posters/taglines
>>200748267>>200748942This. If you can't immediately understand that, you're retarded. Strange World, Lightyear had the same issues. Devoid of color, soul, and blatantly DEI commie trash
>>200748942That may be why most of these movies fail.Their concepts are too weird/hard to describe and lack a proper hook.
>>200748942>>200749314Elemental’s world building was terrible and made no sense. That’s usually one of Pixar’s biggest strengths.
>>200748942You forgot>Main character looked better in concept art.>>200749429Pixar should be glad they had Clod and South Korea to make Elemental at best a movie that underpreformed
>>200749314I recently rewatched Shark Tale and that’s a perfect example of what you’re talking about. What a bizarre mess that was.
Just watched Furiosa for free and it was pretty chaotic boredom. Now I'm checking out original Mad Max from 1979 and I'm like wtf am I watching. This is nothing like that. I thought this series was about driving buggies in the post apocalyptic desert. Have heard people glorifying how good this Mad Max is. Guess I didn't miss anything.
>>200744779who the fuck is arguing films that are released in both theaters and streaming are flopping because of the streaming part? why would something also being on streaming hurt somethings revenue? are you a dumb nigger with a peanut brain?
>>200749973Mad Max = The Evil DeadRoad Warrior = Evil Dead 2When people talk about Mad Max, they usually mean Road Warrior, not the original.
>>200750101OP is an idiot because Inside Out 2 is not available for streaming yet. It’s theatrical only right now.
>>200750115I see, I'll just skip this trash then and see that instead.
>>200744779It's streaming already? Worth pirating?
>>200750311Got my hopes up.
>>200750101There's been a bunch of people saying that Disney+ killed pixar and disney animation by conditioning people to wait for their films to appear on streaming. I like to follow boxoffice numbers and morons on reddit (basically all of them) swear that movies like Encanto would have been huge if they didn't get put on streaming, where it was apparently watched hundreds of millions of times. They blamed the last 3 years of disney and pixar animation flopping and underperforming on that instead of the fact that disney was just making shitty movies kids didn't want to see.>>200750311I don't think that was the argument op was trying to make.
>>200750804I do think there was a stigma against movies that were released day and date on streaming platforms. Not having a proper theatrical run gives off the perception that they weren’t good enough to be a 'real' Pixar or Disney film.
>>200750101>>200750996It's obviously bullshit now, so it's clear the flops were just unappealing trash.
