For the LotR film adaptations, they could divide each book into a separate film,and they did the same for each Song book during GoT (atleast as much as they could before they ran out of books)For The Hobbit trilogy, they had to split one book into three films (just because) and it was starting to show how little material they had to work with at some points. Similarly, filler episodes with whacky self-made plot additions will now be the norm for the adaptation of a subsection of a book trying to stretch itself into 5 seasons or so, if not more.

It doesn't have any stakes from game of thrones. We don't care about the characters or who wins in this. It's just dry generic fantasy slop that misses everything that made GOT/ASOIAF special. It also is a stain on long time fans waiting for Winds of Winter. The whole book was a procrastinated expansion on the world of ice and fire book. It's often given mixed reviews and is a dry mundane world building history book. Every time George focuses on world building quality drops. George was praised for his early books by only giving you bits of the world and focused on the characters and what was necessary to advance the story. It was about intricate and well thought out schemes from the characters. Opening up the world so much in books 4 and 5 actually took away from the cohesion of the story, although I still love them. However, in those books I have characters and emotion and investment way more fleshed out. When reading Fire and Blood, I'm just learning a bunch of stuff that doesn't matter. This king has this happen to him and then this guy becomes king and so on. It's not an interesting story because it's a fantasy history with no investment into a traditional story. If I'm reading about real history, it's actually interesting to me and has an opposite effect because I'm invested in real life and the events and people that shaped the world we live in. Fantasy history books don't have that effect on me. In the case of Game of thrones/ASOIAF I don't care about fleshing out it's history. It just is bloat that serves no purpose. HOTD relies more heavily on the writers. That was obviously the weakness of Game of thrones when it ran out of source material. Same situation here, but now they have literally no foundation on characters that GOT already had developed so it's even more difficult.
