Who has the better iconic horror franchise? Essentially which series dominates the modern horror consciousness? Also, feel free to weigh in on who has the better design, who would win in a versus showdown, etc.
>>
Jigsaw puts Ghostface in traps that are centered around horror plots
>>
Halloween is the most notorious. Elm Street is the best. They're all just fun movies. The dream sequences are always good.
>>
>>201628545
Halloween is not the most notorious. People are more familiar with Michael Meyers through Shrek or Austin Powers. Friday the 13th is probably the most notorious, and just slightly ahead of Nightmare. But Friday is only the most notorious because of the Jason hockey mask. Very few people have actually seen a full Friday movie, which are mostly very boring and awful. But the hockey mask is visual short hand for the slasher genre. But the series is not relevant any more, so the discussion is about an actual showdown between the relevant iconic series in the genre in modern times.

We can't stand for or hold up substandard bullshit in our lives any more. We have to identify the best stuff and look to it as a guiding light.

It's your own problem, bud.

Saw is better by far. I hate meta shit even when it's done by someone competent like Craven.
>>
>>201628478
>which series dominates the modern horror consciousness
>the modern horror consciousness
probably the conjuring
>>
>>201628478
Watch a few of them all. Ghostface has potential except they insist on connecting the movies over and over in an exhausting way. They have yet to lean into the memetic nature of what the character is.

Double 6 digits right in a row. That's crazy. We also had dubs 9s earlier in the thread.

That Halloween costume was every where for a while

I'll be honest, I didn't even know Scream was a movie series until I was like 13 and the series started when I was 3. I felt dumb when I found out, just thought it was a mask people wore for halloween. That being said, Jigsaw fell off so fucking hard, no way kids know what Jigsaw is.
>>
>>201633578
>that being said, Jigsaw fell off so fucking hard
the last film was a huge success in the series tho
>>
>>201633895
Yeah, people are pumped to see him again in his next movie too.
>>
>>201633895
It wasn't that good though. Different yes, but not better. 1 and 2 were good.
>>
>>201628478
scream 1 is the best horror movie ever
But saw has better new movies
>>
>>201635529
1 and 2 were definably the peak in the entire series and was more than just gore shock film but I still enjoy the rest
>>
>>201633578
I just can't agree with that. He really is the best.
>>
>>201632837
What a load of shit.

X rocks.

Saw by far
>>
>>201641187
Yeah, I think that movie is overrated.
>>

This. Trannycore series for reddit trannies.
>>
>>201642663
No. The Departed is overrated.
>>
>>201642596
>>201643099
Let me guess, you also think The Conjuring is overrated?
>>
>>201643793
Yes. Those movies are soggy.

Personally, I was hoping they’d be a little more saggy.
>>
>>201644484
They should have changed their names from the Warrens to the Borings.

There can only be one.

Still better than anything that coalburner Gadon ever starred in, at least we can agree on that ;)

I am pretty sure Halloween is the most influential movie when exclusively speaking about the slasher genre, that is.
>seen a full Friday movie, which are mostly very boring and awful.
nice way to out yourself as a faggot with no taste
>>
>>201651052
They are influential but no one really cares about Michael or the general lameness of his movies. People don't actually like Friday either and they don't watch the movies, they just recognize the character.
>>
>>201651886
I am pretty sure OP's question was about the best horror franchise, not most iconic character
Now crawl back to your boys threads or reddit or whichever shithole you came from, retard.
>>
>>201652165
You didn't read the OP and no one respects the Halloween franchise. It has one movie of any note at all.
