On the other hand, both of them do some objectively stupid things, and Rhaenyra flat out admits that her council is right that she doesn't know shit about fighting a war. Their compassion for each other is a huge liability that will get more people killed in the long term. If the Greens had come out the gate swinging, they probably could have ended the war before it really started. But Alicent dragged her heels, Rhaenyra has spent weeks doing fuck all, and now both sides have built up enough forces that the war will become a brutal grind.
