>A crossover film between the Leprechaun and Candyman film series was in development following the release and subsequent box office success of Freddy vs. Jason, tentatively entitled Candyman vs. Leprechaun, with a script treatment written and Davis set to reprise his role. However, the project stalled after Tony Todd immediately flat out refused to participate in such a project, stating that he had "too much respect for his character to see him used for such a purpose".
Cringe or based?

I agree with him. Candyman is horror kino, and I'm a big fan of the Leprechaun films, but it would have been a shit crossover.

Yeah, instead of a fun movie that could've been schlock camp kino the Candyman legacy had to be preserved with 3 and 4. What a great decision.
