This is not a joke. All media is better when viewed in black & white.

If you have the option to put your display in grayscale, do so. There is no reason to have movies with color in them.

Literally serves zero purpose. There has never been a moment where the color red or green or indigo has been intrinsic to understanding a film.

You have everything to gain. Grayscale not only makes it easier to process visual imagery, it has no drawbacks due to how our eyes interpret monochrome scenes.

Start with a movie you've seen before and watch it with the saturation off. The experience is objectively more engrossing.

Why were color TVs invented? Ever find it weird that everyone just accepted this new useless new technology? There's a whole meme genre called "noir" which is just normal movies done in black & white.

I watch YouTube in black & white too. I even play videogames without color now, because it feels like an interactive painting. I might even desaturate my porn collection.

Anon you might have autism

Especially those movies. If a film relies on very specific hues & grading then it is trying to instill a psychological effect.

"Moods" and "vibes" can still be achieved without a color wheel.

Denying the director that ability means you can better appreciate what is in front of you.

It's also infallible for criticism. If a scene is poorly lit in B&W, it will still be poorly lit at full saturation.

There are certain scenes in The Lighthouse that make a lot more sense when inverted.
