What is Scorsese's best picture?
And at what period did he lose his soul?

I think best will be subjective. Taxi Driver is my favourite but Raging Bull or Goodfellas is probably his most accomplished film.
>And at what period did he lose his soul?
Didn't.

The departed

Goodfellas was the peak. That said, all the Paul Schrader written movies were the best, but Scorsese lost a bit of magic with Shutter Island and The Departed

>Best movie?
Taxi driver
>When did he lose his soul
When he decided that CGI de-aging his goodfellas/casino crew was a better idea than just casting younger actors

Goodfellas or Taxi Driver.
He’s getting old yea, but I don’t think he’s lost his soul (maybe his editor has a bit)
