>>201693874>DUDE WHAT IF AN AMERICAN ACTION HERO WAS STUCK IN A BATSHIT INSANE WUXIA FILMand it was kino
>>201693874Everything
>>201693874Kurt Russels charismaJohn Carpenters coke buddy band sound track.

>>201693874Me being in it
>>201693999he wasn't the hero, he was the sidekick
>>201693874Wacky action that doesn't take itself too seriously. Obviously taking a lot of influence from Hong Kong cinema but polishing it up with a much bigger budget.>>201695562Meaningless response.
All about the bag man
>>201696812
>>201693874Lo Pan's first scene alone pretty much makes the movie
>>201696984https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xiAbDkXDggLO PAN STYLE!
>>201695551>uses his own shitty band for the soundtrack like they were going to be breakout music stars.John Carpenter was not serious about this movie.
Kurt Rusell and Lo PangAbsolute kino
>>201696688For you
>>201698045Carpenter did the soundtracks for a bunch of his own movies and he still does concerts for them. Also I don't think he was that serious about any movie he ever made
>>201696032>Kills Lo Pan
as a kid, it was cool and fun and funny. as an adult, its smart and fun and funny. its a miracle the movie even happened. my favorite of all time since 1990 btw.
>>201696032
When will they make a sequel?
>>201693874Lightning in a bottle. All the main and supporting characters are great, they get fleshed out just enough to keep things interesting, the plot is simple but there’s a lot of locations which keeps it fresh, the fights and magic in the action scenes make it cool, and the heroes and villains all have attitude. We’ll never see its kind again.
>>201693874Everyone involved gave their serious best effort. Fun and wacky != unseriousness.
>>201699226>Lightning in a bottleI disagree on that, Carpenter's style made for plenty of great movies, and it wasn't even the first great movie he made with Kurt Russel
>>201699466That's true, but for as many fantastic movies as he made, none of the others are like this one. That's not even to say they're worse, just that this particular thing was never quite replicated.
Part that gets funnier and funnier is when Jack and Wang walk into the Wing Kong Exhange lobby and yell at the desk security "Don't get up, phone company" and Jack is just waving a big 'ol rotary telephone in his hand, peak comedy.
>>201699964It's unironically one of the funniest movies I've ever watched, if just for Jack's lines.
Oh God no what i that don't tell me
