World War Z was good and deserves a sequel, actually

My favorite parts of the living dead movies are how they show the govt and authorities trying ot handle the situation. Same thing with Shin Godzilla which is my favorite Godzilla movie. I enjoyed the book a lot because it went more into that direction of how society would handle a disaster rather than one man with a machete would handle it. The movie didn't work for me in that aspect. Is there a sub-genre of film that hits that sweet spot?

now that i think about it, if you want the whole "govt and authorities trying ot handle the situation" you could watch Day of the Jackal (1973)
