I love Barbarella
Ahead of its time.Released the directors cut decades later.
>>201732792Favorite 60s films>spider baby>mothra vs godzilla>peeping tom>ghidorah, the three-headed monster
for me it's
Bava was the best
is the original true grit any good? I can't stand john wayne but he's allegedly actually acting in that one

>>201733101Have you seen Hatchet for the Honeymoon? Released in 1970 but shot in 1968-69. One of his best imo.

>>201733203I have not, skipped it because it was one of his lower rated movies. I'll check it out
1960s is like three different eras in one decade1960-19631964-19661967-1969
>>201733529>skipped it because it was one of his lower rated moviesLooked at letterboxd to see what hid "lowest rated" movies are, and if you're skipping Planet of the Vampires too then that's another you need to check out.Neither have particularly low ratings on there though, just not as high as his more well-known movies.Hope you enjoy.
>>201734015Planet of the Vampires was the first Bava I ever watched, although I had no idea who Bava was at the time. Great movie
70 American cinema is better but 60 started all the good and bad trends of hollywood starting with being sanctimonious
>>201734247Yeah it's great, awesome visuals and atmosphere. Bava is one of the greatest horror directors ever. Sad he died when he was relatively young and still working, he would have delivered more awesome movies. This one is 70s but I watched Lisa and the Devil recently and it was great.
>>201733104It seemed most of the time he didn't know that genres other than Westerns existed
