I have some practical advice for you OP: become a barista or bartender. I did both about 10-15 years ago. It sucked as an introvert but most of my coworkers were washed up artists who had their money job and then their serious project. But then they were always looking for artistic work with each other or people they knew. It was kind of nice that way. If you found a place like that it'd probably be a lot easier to make connections.
