I've been rewatching TDK, lets be honest.Heath Ledger's performance kind of aged like milk and is cringe.
>>201746553It's peak "IM ACTING" cringe but no one wants to admit it because he died
>>201746553Milk ages into cheese, idjit.
Do we still live in a society?
>>201746617unfortunately
>>201746553Him licking his lips every 2 seconds like a lizard was annoying
>>201746553no reddit gold for you, good sir
>>201746584Imagine a wakeen slurper posting that.
>>201746553It was never about his performance, his character encapsulates the millennial credo of "watching the world burn" and in a movie where you're supposed to root for the superhero, the generational act of rebellion was to put his Joker on the pedestal, didn't matter that it was Heath Ledger who played him, but the fact that he committed suicide right after didn't lose it any points either.
>>201746553you kinda aged like mild and is cringe
>>201746553>read a bunch of reddit posts critical of TDK>see the same posts cropping up here around the same timeintredasting
>>201746553it works if you understand his acting is supposed to freak everyone out. he's supposed to act weird and make you feel uncomfortable.like a weird nasty hobo.
>>201746553
>>201746553>man lives in a society
>>201746553I thought his acting was fine. The amount of planning and 4D chess moves he pulled off (Joker wanted to be caught this whole time which is why he rigged a guy up with ecplosives so who happened to go to that exact jail cell he was caught at, etc.) kind of took me out of it. Even if he had several back-up plans, it still didn't make sense how he pulled off everything that be did.
>>201746553>Heath Ledger's performance kind of aged like milk and is cringe. You're thinking of your threads, bud.
>>201746553It's literally the same level of obnoxious overacting as Jared Leto, but Ledger died (much tragic, very sad) so we're supposed to pretend that it was an oscar worthy performance.
>>201746553It was always cronge
>>201746553You're looking at it through the lens of a zoomer who has probably seen more Heath Ledger Joker parodies than his actual performance. Same thing happened to The Matrix and other cultural touchstones. They became a joke and the original work was lost on people.
>>201746553I dunno wtf people are talking about in this thread. Ledger was the only good thing about Nolan’s trilogy. The smart thing to do would have been to drop it when he died
>>201746553>Doctor Who licks his lips in Harry Potter>OVERACTING>Heat Legend licks his lips in TDK>KINO
Honestly leto gave a pretty decent performance. I feel like it aged like a fine wine.
>>201750379Okay, I don't think that Ledger's performance holds up, but Tenant was yelling like a rabid dog and sticking his tongue all the way out every 3 seconds. It was far worse than anything in Nolan's trilogy.
>>201750585you must be 18 to post here
>>201748710It is almost like the character was very...chaotic.
>>201750045Yeah when I finally sat down and was shown Halloween in 2004 I just couldn't take it seriously. I knew logically it would have been a good horror movie decades before but at that point it was like a remake of a million parody scenes I had watched over the years.
>>201746553Nah, it's still the best Joker.
>>201752574Nah, Joaquin is. Even though his Joker is not the canonical one, it's a better performance and, let's face it, a better Joker.
>>201746553He's been drawing shitty cartoon pages for decades, give him a break
>>201746553Ya, Phoenix was much better. Terrifyingly psychotic and deranged.
>>201746553Cope retard
>>201748914If Zack snyder had handled Jared from the start he wouldn't be considered cringe eitherThat suicide squad movie just didn't work in his favor
>>201746553I watched it semi-recently and I unironically agree
>>201752601Not really, it's what OP describes.
>>201752715Or rather, it's "I'm acting" tier. I wouldn't say it's aged like milk. But Joaquin Joker is more Arthur Fleck than Joker.
>>201746553He's never losing that oscar.
>>201750045The matrix is still good today. Heath Ledger was cringe even back then.
>>201746553it's cringekino
>>201746617what's the meaning or origin of this meme?
>>201748710I still dont understand why when the bomb inside the fat guy exploded everyone but the joker was affected by it
>>201753357he rolled at the right moment and the i-frames protected him
>>201753350It all starts with George.
