Why watch Californian liberals larp as cops, wizards or mob bosses for 2 hours when you can larp as one your self in a photorealistic video game or learn about real ones for hours on YouTube?

Completely different experience. There's a reason why more people watch streamers play videogames on twitch than actually play the games themselves.
Oftentimes people can't be assed with the mental effort needed to concentrate on a videogame. Additionally, most videogames take 6 hours to finish on the fast end, and over 100 hours when you're talking about hardcore rpgs. A lot of people simply don't have that time.
Compare that 2 hours for a film, or 3 hours if it's a really long film.
Even tv series only require 10 hours.

Lack of production values. You don't get that feeling of awe and amazement when you watch some manchild retard on youtube start reading wikipedia facts against some still paintings in the background. But you do when you see Maximus enter the Colosseum and fight a fucking tiger and ask the crowd if they're entertained while Hans Zimmer is blaring

No. But hollywood is on its last legs. Films are about to become significantly more niche and oversaturated. That's not the same as them dying altogether though
