I watched The Last of the Mohicans the other day. 10/10 setting and 5/10 stiory. What are some other essential Musketeer kino?

Fantastic atmosphere, but I didn't like the story much. I remember my sister having to explain to me why he shot his own friend at the end. My kid brain didn't really understand the "end his misery" thing and that stuck with me.. Soundtrack is basically 10/10 but that's already been established.

The mercy kill is easy to understand, it's the white guy sacrificing himself that's confusing. He has no admirable qualities before that point, a less sympathetic Boromir. There are several key moments when the film shows itself to be fundamentally a romance, and that's one. It's cuck stuff.
