Why aren't the Hightowers stronger at the time of GOT? Looking at the map and the worldbuilding they should be one of the major players. Alright friends I’m storyboarding for an ASOIAF fic, just going to copy and paste some thoughts. The general idea is that I wanted to do a fic where Jon has a similar(ish) journey to Paul Atreides and Dune. He would have either dragon dreams or greensight, mostly about the Others but also a little about the general fuckery that kicks off in Westeros after Jon Arryn's death. He'd either head to Essos (Dragon Dreams) or DA TRUE NORF (greensight) where he has to learn to live with the Rh'llor worshippers or the Free Folk (either one could be his Fremen). At some point, events force him to unlock true prescience via whatever the Water of Life equivalent is, and he has to head back to Westeros proper to claim power, unite the Realm, beat the Others etc etc etcIt's a very, very bare-bones outline and I'm definitely still wanting to add plenty of things to it. There's so many lines of dialogue from both the books and the films that I can't seem to get out of my head, and I'm trying to match ASOIAF events to them as best as I can. The sequence where Paul's tripping balls in the tent and screaming about "fanatical legions worshipping at the shrine of my father's skull" could be about either Rhaegar or Ned, for example.I'm having a tough time figuring out the best Bene Gesserit analogue, as well as who the best Feyd-Rautha could be (probably FAegon), so your suggestions are super helpful. Anything y'all think would be cool to add, I am all ears.
