That's happened years before the Disney acquisition, and i really doubt it was completed and not released in some form considering Fox for the anniversary realeased a series of shorts.
Either they shelved it for taxes (like Discovery did for many WB projects) without anyone knowing or the guy is full of shit and just want a chance at working on it again now that people are talking about Alien again.

But besides all that, if it really exists it would be interesting to watch if only it wasn't anime.
