Alright lads, let's do this. I've been watching a movie a day all September and reviewing them so I'm always looking for new suggestions. What is your:
>Favorite classic
>Favorite slasher flick
>Favorite zombie flick
>Favorite monster movie
>Favorite new movie (last 5-10 years)
>Favorite comedy horror
>Favorite "bad" horror movie
Feel free to answer all or some! I plan on watching 2-3 movies today and drinking beers while shitposting with the lads. Any fun plans for the night?

If Skinamarink and Lake Mungo linked up they could do it.

It is the barest bones of a skeleton of the Navison(?) Record. Really it is it's own think, stinkymarink. A fine film but not HoL. Lake Mungo has that bitter core of true love in it, but you could then argue Interstellar is HoL too. It's not just about the weird or /hor/ stuff. The structure of the book can't be replicated in film.

Peeping Tom. I only heard about this from Scream 4 when I was in high school and watched it on Vimeo. It actually predated Psycho and it's a very solid voyeur-slasher. Too bad the prudish Brits slagged against it and destroyed the director's career; he couldn't find work again.

>Favorite slasher flick
You're Next. It's not technically a slasher but it has so many elements that emulate it and the Final Girl is my favorite. She's not a Mary Sue and had to damn well fight for every victory.

Same. I think like 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and the top 10% own like 90% of all wealth. I think only like 5% of men are worthy of admiration. But no, can't respect women. You cannot respect something that did not build the infrastructure.
>>
>>203932838
I don't understand what any of what you just said has to do with respecting people. Your parameters are wildly different than mine.
>>
>>203932777
Also, especially not in todays environment. The woman you do respect, I am sure they were born in a different time. Now that girls are "independent" as long as there are men to maintain the infrastructure, they feel they don't need men and their true nature has come out.
>>
>>203932925
You do know that the division of labor is such that 99% of the people who have the knowledge to execute the building of infrastructure are not those who actually build the infrastructure, right?

>Your parameters are wildly different than mine.
I understand, but you have to look at statistics. Only 10% of men, 20% at best, are born good looking, which is the most important thing. Then after looks, it is being born rich. These people are born without any resentment and any negative emotions that will make them envious people.

These people, go through life being better than the majority of people. You have to understand, when you are a bottom 70% male, nothing you do ever matters. Your wife never wanted you when she was in her prime (girls only want top 10% men) and only went with you after she saw her biological clock ticking. Your son will be a loser like you. These majority of people, the bottom 70% men, harbor of a lot of bad emotions and attitude that make them not worthy of respect.
>>
>>203933047
I am talking about the newest one?
Like it came out very recently. It is similar to Smile and It Follows.
>>
>>203932924
Last night, I was reading youtube comments and I got a glimpse into the mind of the majority of men. They say things like "oh we have to work hard to attract women" or "we have to work on ourselves" and pretty much just work and suffer through life, while top 10% men never had to work for anything. So these bottom 90% men, with their jealousy and resentment at the top 10%ers, are they worthy of respect if you are a top 10%?

Your perception of the world is unfixable.
The fact that you think wealthy, attractive men don't harbor vicious, insatiable resentment is baffling. You speak as if life is some objective fiction that is outside of you and settled. Life is the inner turmoil and anxiety of every living, internal organism. You think that if some outside elements are "settled" that an organism is not subjected to the inner, qualitative range that defines humanity. How could that ever be possible?

The comments, representing the majority of men, were bitter. That is how most men think and feel so it is hard to discuss this topic cause most people I would discuss this topic with is would be the majority of men. At least the men in that comment section was honest, most men just cope with "muh family."
This is going kind of off-topic, but when you watch horror films and you see all the betamale characters, it is BECAUSE the people working on the script are betas too. People write what they know about.

I was watching Friday the 13 remake, and the main girl was such a pos that she invited Jared Pakelki in to the Chads home. And i thought, "wow, who thought this script was a good idea?"
>>
>>203933266
>The fact that you think wealthy, attractive men don't harbor vicious, insatiable resentment is baffling.
No, they do, but AT LEAST they are attractive and wealthy, so they have less other negative emotions. Get it? Would you rather be average looking and poor or attractive and wealthy? Attractive and wealthy is better because that person can pull himself out of negative if he wants to.

The fact that you think that a rabidly bitter and resentful human can suddenly become not so merely by thinking "well I'm rich and wealthy" is utterly baffling. >The fact that you think that a rabidly bitter and resentful human can suddenly become not so merely by thinking "well I'm rich and wealthy" is utterly baffling.
I did not say that, I said the rich and wealthy guy can have options to not be bitter and resentful while the poor guy is just, well, poor. Also there really is ugly on the inside, ugly on the outside. When I see younger girls today and even if they are pretty on the outside, I can read their emotions and they harbor a lot of hate. Hate at what? Resentment at what? That is a whole other subject.

Your inclination to make broad, blanket statements regarding individuals of an immense variety indicates to me that your worldview is heavily skewed and faulty.
>>
>>203931165
It Follows had a very strong first half. It was a good slow burn; very few modern movies can built up the tension and creeping dread. The second half I agree was dog shit, but to be fair, these were teenage kids and they really couldn't strategize anything effective.
>>
>>203933266
Like you can look at someone and read them, you know that right? Go look at unattractive men or poor people (not that I judge and check out men, but I still have eyes), they all carry this heavy negative energy that resonates off them.

And with regards to actresses, especially all the ones under 25, you can read this angriness they have in them. (probably cause their careers is tied to their looks and there is an endless amount of girls turning 18 that wants to be an actress.)
>>
>>203933528
>can have options to not be bitter and resentful
Back to my point. You can't separate outside circumstances from the inner world. If a person is subsumed with bitterness and resentment, there is no physical switch to shut that off. The same can be said for most of the intense psychological dispositions all humans are subjected to. I'm going to stop replying now because I feel like my point has been illustrated.
>>
>>203933266
Why are you responding to that retard instead of reporting him? You should know better, Garlic Salt. Don't contribute to his off-topic thread derailments.
>>
>>203933570
>Everything is different for everyone. You've said nothing.
I just know it is better to be rich and good looking, and this is not even with relations to adulthood. Your life, at birth, literally starts better. Teachers treat you better, female classmates treat you better, you spend the first 18 years of your life living a life most men cannot even fathom and that money cannot buy. What is there for you to argue with?
>>
>>203933570
>your worldview is heavily skewed and faulty.
Your worldview is probably heavily skewed towards work and towards the average. Like how you can say I am wrong? Being above average compared to everyone puts you in a better spot and less likely to be a spiteful person. I don't get it, that is just how it works. Go to poor areas and check out their supermarkes and people and parking lots, and then go to a nice area.
>>
>>203933623
You have no idea the absolute inhumanities that attractive and successful people willingly subject themselves to in order to "maintain." They toss aside all humanity. They are nothing BUT bitterness. This conversation began in the realm of "who should be respected." Those men should not. It's that easy.

>>203933663
See above. The goalposts have been slowly shifting away from "those who deserve reverence" to "those who 'society' regards more favorably." I'm re-centering. See my conclusion above. Good luck with life. I sincerely mean that.

Final point of clarity: not all attractive, wealthy men are not deserving of reverence. Nor are all "unattractive, poor" people deserving. The criteria must be nuanced and meaningful. Superficial criteria are not the determinates of these things, but they are factors that influence the determinates. If you can't disentangle those dialectics then you shouldn't be a part of the conversation.

Is /hor/ unironically the most low IQ general? I don't mean the genre, I mean this general
When NPM tried spamming /film/, he was laughed out right away and never returned. Other spammers get treated the same way. That nigga poster guy is being ignored completely, anyone who replies to him just tells him to kill himself. Most of the spammers there stop as they get no (You)s besides their own samefagging (You)s
Meanwhile in /hor/, NPM has been spamming for over a year now and you faggots just let it happen. Everyone just keeps feeding his ass (You)s, some even try to encourage him and have discussions with him. Some faggots here even defend him, claiming his homosexual fantasies are actually "based".
This general is a fucking joke nowadays, which is sad, as this place used to be great. The spammers here even make it easy, they use the same words in every post, or even tripfag, so you can filter them, yet everyone replies anyway. Does anyone here even fucking watch horror, or is this just the Indian homosexual fantasy general now?
It's grim what this general has become

If you have a region-free player, there's region B releases of it
There's the DVD too if you're fine with that

Larry Cohen fun. Plus you get to see the legend Sam Fuller acting.
>>
>>203936592
Hmm I might need to consider that, there's a few other OOP region A movies like Sleepaway Camp 2 and Just Before Dawn that are also easier to find in region B

Yeah I'm remembering now. It gets to the action pretty quick and throws some wild curve balls at you pretty consistently. So far so good.

personally I think this is one of his worst or less amusing movies. the main villain is laughably bad

>Sam Fuller acting
the best thing about that movie. big grin every time he was on screen, the man knew what kind of movie he was doing
>>
>>203937559
Haven't seen every Universal Monster movie but at the moment it's my favorite. Jack Griffin is one of my new favorite villains.
>>

About 45 mins in, I remember this now. Saw it over 20 years ago I think. Bad pacing, shitty acting, bonus points for loli vamps though.
