Is it just me, or does most of /hor/, besides from a few specific people here like NPM, seem incredibly different from the rest of /tv/ and 4chan? The threads here are usually full of women hate, negro hate, troon hate, Jew hate, etc, yet /hor/ rarely does this and will gladly watch slop that's filled with negros or strong women.
I'm genuinely curious to why /hor/ is so oddly different from the rest of this board. Is everyone in /hor/ secretly a redditor?
>>
>>204206167
probably because /hor/ actually enjoys movies

platform 2 suffered from the same problems as the first. there were some visceral elements to appreciate but it disappeared up its own ass in a puff of smoke and the ending was some half baked thematic bullshit like part 1. theres a good concept in here that they keep fucking up every time.

Some good picks in there. I can't afford to buy any more movies right now myself

>Ghosthouse / Witchery
In Italy, the first two Evil Dead movies are called La Casa and La Casa 2. To cash in on their popularity, these movies were called La Casa 3 and La Casa 4 in Italy. They're not good movies, but they're required for any Evil Dead collection be complete.
>>
>>204206444
the conceit of the movie is about food scarcity, i want to see starving people battling over morsels. i enjoy themes i really do but both these movies didn't know how to adequately tackle them and when they do get into Super Serious Mode, they turn into daytime tv soap operas. and all the stuff with the kids? WTF is that? what was that ending (you'll see)? not for me. i need a palette cleanser after that. the main chick had a nice set of perkies and i was happy to see the old guy again, but i'm grasping at straws.

About an hour in and I'm finding The Tunnel ok for what it is, but I wished that it leaned more into the camp of found footage instead of the faux-documentary approach that made up most of the first half. Yeah the faux-documentary approach helped the story, but it also made it less "tense" since you could guess who lived and died.

I didn't think the bio-organic UFO segment was that bad, but it really was too damn hard to see what was going on. Still, beat the fuck out of '99 and '85 as far as I was concerned.

This is my opinion of Ghostwatch. I did not like it, at all, not even a bit. I can, again, see how it might be enjoyable in context, in like an Orson Welles War of the Worlds kind of way, but I think it's a pretty dogshit movie when stripped of that context. Maybe I just hate listening to british "people" talk.
Late Night With the Devil is a lot more of just a traditional movie, and if your entire thing is just "they're both in the format of a TV show so it's a ripoff" you might just be low IQ.

Just finished this. Not as good as the original, but better than the 2004 version. Definitely the same woke bullshit going on, as always. Some cool effects and shots. Some cool new ideas (I liked the usage of car trunks as coffins). Actors weren't great, even though there are some good ones here. Ending was pretty shit. Repetitive soundtrack. If you aren't a fan of the book or the original movie, I'd say skip.

>but I think it's a pretty dogshit movie when stripped of that context
It's not. It's well shot, well acted, the script is good with a nice level of mounting tension, the characters are developed and sympathetic. It has effective scares that were convincing enough that many people believed it was real. Ghostwatch is good. It's telling that the worst criticism you think of was some reddit "lol British accents"

Freddy is a good comp as real, mean but farcical violence. I think we are slowly learning more about Art in every movie. In the first film he was a human being and able to be killed. In the second movie after being resurrected he's something else entirely supernatural. I think it's really interesting
>>
>>204210551
this is episode 2 right?
>>
>>204210588

>>
>>204210468
That's really what makes the second superior to the first for me. In the first, I found Art a lot more pure or even angry maybe in his sadism, which I personally found distasteful, not really in a pearl clutching way so much as an "I'm not getting anything out of this" way, I just didn't find it fun. The amount of fun he seems to have in 2, comparatively, up until the last portion, really sold it for me.
