The best horror sequel of all time and nothing else comes close
>>204524021They should make game about this
>>204524021its mediocre at best
>>204524021Bit uneven, but some scenes you will never forget, obvious one being the 'nurse with scissors', I rewatched this about a year ago and what struck me the most was how insanely good actors we used to have. When you compare the George C Scott and Brad Dourif performances in this movie to we have today, it's truly depressing.
>>204524021Sorry wrong picI'm retarded
>>204524339The duality of Jason Miller and Brad Dourif together makes the movie so brilliant
>>204524021Aliens is the best horror sequel and NOTHING comes close
>>204524021It's pretty good, not great. Certainly not the best horror sequel of all time.
>>204524458did they ever explain what chucky had against jack-in-the-boxes?
only 2 and believer are canon to the first movie because they have linda blair as regan in them. believer is the true exorcist 3
>>204524152SPBP it has its moments thanks to good casting, but is largely bogged down by Blatty's undisciplined and indulgent directorial instincts. It plays out exactly like you'd expect a movie directed by a novelist to play out.
>>204524021Evil Dead 2
>>204524339This is the only horror movie to ever make me cry. That last shot of Karras before Kinderman ends it, where you can see the crushing weight of the torment he's borne twice now, is so devastating. This movie is kino and I'm looking forward to a watch of the Legion cut at some point, but I'm really not convinced that Blatty's vision of the film, with that character not present at all, is going to put it above the original version in my book.
thats not Psycho II>>204524339they used to hire actors in movies
>>204524458based and true. Literally everything you would want from a sequel to the first movie.
>>204527376i liked the bombastic score to this. much better than the first one's tinkling harpsichord shit. read that it was his first movie job and he lied about conducting a full orchestra before. he said he was inspired by bernard herman scores for hitchcock's movies and it shows.there's a tv edit somewhere with about 20 minutes of extra scenes mostly about the foster parents characters. wish there was a way to put it back in
>>204527376it's seinfeld approved
>>204524543It's interesting how such a thing happened by circumstance rather than being intended from the start. Serendipity is like that I guess. > "Are they calling these "Gemini killings" in the papers? You must get them to do that lieutenant it's important."> "The Gemini is dead."> "NO, I. AM. NOT. I AM ALIVE! LOOK AT ME! Look at me and tell me what you see!"
>>204524021Close but wrong.
>>204527661you mean jason miller being too drunk to remember his lines?
>>204524021It’s good until the ending with the tacked in exorcism scene. It’s just so weird how the exorcist comes out of nowhere, he doesn’t even have any lines previous to that.
>>204526215What a retarded
>>204524021That jump scare in the hospital...
>>204528322when i was a kid i didn't understand and thought the gemini made the statue come to life
>>204524021Exorcist 3 and Psycho 2 are the best horror sequels I can think of right now. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is the worst horror sequel I can think of compared to the original, especially since it they had the same director.
>>204528864i don't think hooper wanted to make it but agreed to be contracted to so he could make the movies he wanted (Invaders from Mars, Lifeforce). The musical score is expecially bad (sounds like a temp track) and that was partially composed by Hooper himself. The thing I like most about it is the set design. The dingy radio station and the abandoned theme park lair a fascinating to look at in hd. What's with the wall full of kidneys and why do they all look fresh??
The first Exorcist is a 10/10, a truly perfect film.
>>204530544Have you watched the Dr. Sapirstein Theatrical Cut Reconstruction?
>>204527784Yes. Alcohol really paid off.
>>204526310unironically this. beyond kino.
