Just got back from Terrifier 3. Some thoughts.Kills were creative and the gore was good, no surprise there.By far the funniest entry. David Howard Thornton is easily my favorite actor in horror right now. Very charismatic and great comedic timing.Favorite kill was the Aunt. Rats down the throat is such a horrifying way to go.Weird how little screen time the brother got. I assume the actor just didn't really wanna return for the full thing, hence the introduction of the cousin.Not really sure where they'll go from here. I liked how they mentioned how Sienna was put on trial for the murders in 2 since Art's body was never found. Makes me think 4 might have, or at least start with, Sienna in prison or an Asylum. Either way, very excited for it.

>Day 15: Wrong TurnNot bad. About time I watched this one. After seeing a lot of really vicious flicks in the previous nights, Wrong Turn feels kind of PG 13. You can tell it's made for the teenage crowd, but it's fine for what it is. Making the killers mutants seemed like an interesting idea (The Hills Have Eyes remake did a lot of neat mutant designs), but Wrong Turn's killers are merely mute and weird looking. They don't have such memorable designs, or the personality you'd get from talking killers. But the kind of Neanderthal design, with their own language and such, implies an interesting backstory that I don't hate. Hottest girl dies first, a pet peeve of mine.

Terrifier 2 is immensely better than the first one, in every way, it looks better, the story is better, the gore is better, the acting is better, the girls are better looking, and it actually estabilishes the main characters enough that when they suffer you actually feel something. Even the clown was better explored, he's much more entertaining in this one. It's long but it's paced well and i didn't really feel the runtime until the last 20 minutes, when it falls into the surreal and the supernatural and it starts feeling kind of dumb and had me thinking "enough already" at every turn. I see how some people feel it's mean spirited, and i agree somewhat, there's no relief or cathartic moment (that sword climax wasn't it). It all feels kind of empty, i don't think there's a lot going on with this Damien Leone fella, really seems like a case of the old "horror fanboy gets to make his own horror films" and they're as surface as you'd expect from a fanboy.It's alright for a gory slasher, shouldn't be as polarizing as it seems to be, people either love it or hate and it didn't bring any real strong feelings in me on either direction.
