>In 1977, Luc Besson was rejected by La Fémis, the most prestigious film school of France. Besson later told in interviews, that in a preliminary interview an administrator asked him which directors he most admired. Besson named Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and Milos Forman, before the interviewer cut him off, saying: "That's enough. I don't think you belong here".

>Coraline Fogart was valedictorian at La Fémis, starting several notable feminist organizations in the school, eventually leading to her breakouts, the feminist hit, Revenge, and The Substance.

I disagree, part of being a great director is also being great at navigating the mechanism of the film industry. If one can't do this, how can they ever manage the egos on a film set? How can they ever work with unions and hollywood actors? They will get steamrolled. Only the best of the best make it in Hollywood.

What do you think happens? The best filmmaker wins? Carolie Fogeart chugged a lot of cock to get funded. Meanwhile the male directors aren't bringing any value to those producers. They aren't bringing Denzel Washington to the door. They just have a few sheets of paper. Fogart will get on her knees and suck them off. Get in bed with them and ride their dick. Then she will talk about her movie. She is going to be the one who gets funded. It's just how it goes. Men offer nothing today, this is why women are surpassing them in film.

Hi guys.
My movie is released today.
We had not enough budget and time so the movie quality will not be good.
You might not be satisfied but I really hope you enjoy this film.
This is our first project in Korea and we will make it more detailed next time.
Constructive feedback is always welcome.
Keep watching and creating films.

I enjoyed this little film a lot and it warmed my heart. Was a good decision to not kill myself today. Sisters- fucking loved it, very fun watch. 70s NYC is just such a goddamn vibe, especially seen through the thick delicious film grain in this. Wish more films made use of split screen. I remember a girl that looked like this in 2nd year uni except her hair was longer. She had the same exact bangs, but also had the most perfect ass. She was way out of my league tho. Its been thirteen years and still she's the most beautiful girl I've ever laid my eyes on. I wonder if she ever thought about me, probably not. What a mess of a 33 year old I man. I wish I had friends.

>What a mess of a 33 year old I man.
We're all messes in here. 27 year old man here, afraid of conflict because of the possibility of getting punished if I overexert my strength, always attract bullies in life. I realized today that I need to face my fears and learn to express my anger correctly instead of repressing it or taking it out in a overtly forceful manner. Maybe you can change too, but it won't be easy. I've also never had a gf or asked a girl out. What did you study?

Mechanical engineering, wish I studied more but I was fucking depressed and had massive ADHD issues which I didn't resolve. I still graduated but yeah couldn't do Masters or PhD like I dreamt of. Close to 20 years of isolation and being friendless. I'm not even the hateful type, I really wanted to hangout with some of the people in my school, they seemed like cool nerds but alas I was too much of a fuckup even if the nerdiest people of the university.

Well, you can still change. Could even get into a masters program I guess. I was able to do it and I also had a lot of issues in my early years in Uni. Still friendless too, but I'm alright with that. I realized my friends were fake faggots.

Do people here actually use filter lists? Do you end up unhiding the posts anyway to see what people said?

Only filter is my mind. When shit gets too hectic, I just don't read the stupid stuff. That's why I missed on seeing Gadonfag's dick the other day (maybe it was for the better though)

>>
>>204598058
Nah I can't. Making friends as 33 is foolish. Everyone is an adult, they have their issues, they have so much experience in life. Most people are married. They get more social interaction in a day that I have gotten in 15 years. I have no foundations, I'm empty. I can barely do integrals, let alone get a Masters degree. Friends can't fix me, being social could have fixed me 20 years ago but not now. And lastly, as I said I'm in love with a girl that I don't even know her name. I feel like she might have been a figment of my imagination. I wonder what she's doing right now, I saw her carrying a biology textbook, probably finished Med School and Residency and is a licensed doctor now. Or a researcher or a pharmacist.
>>
>>204598567
They're all probably as fucked up as you are on some level of their lives. Unironically, just work on yourself bro. You need to recognize which are your character weaknesses in life and work to correct them. For example, the integrals stuff I guess you can correct by studying a lot to get to a level you feel comfortable with. It's not like you're stuck in here forever. I know how you feel man, with a past as heavy as that you start to think that you have no future and no solution to your problems, but every problem has a solution. I even relate to your girl obsession, I still think daily about a girl I haven't seen for 8 years. And well, in a way we make friends on /film/, even if we don't know who we are. It's not that hard bro.

Have you seen Demons? The Matsumoto film? As someone who also has anger issues I felt watching it to be very cathartic. Like it won’t heal anything, or teach you how to control anger better, so don’t get the wrong impression. But i saw it during an angry period in my life and sort of felt a temporary release by the end of it. I haven’t really seen another film that had felt as therapeutic as that one.
>>
>>204599050
It's very lame. Perfume commercial for women.
>>
>>204599050
It's not your fault (probably), I also think WKW sucks. I watched this movie once in Uni and even forgot that I watched until years later when one day I re-watched it on my own and then I remembered like "yeah, I watched this already". Movie's super boring, and actually fits the perfume commercial meme to a T, but in a bad way.
>>
>>204599093
No, I haven't. I'm convinced that the way I will correct my anger issues is through healthy expression of anger; if you repress it your self esteem goes to shit, if you overexpress it you go to prison (I've been close). My brother wanted to see Demons, I'll check it out. A film I felt was cathartic for me was Cold Fish, I could relate to everyone in that film, the traumatized serial killer, the victim beta man and also the traumatized woman enabler. I can see parts of myself in all of them.

Imo, he's not. I feel like I like him and dislike him in equal parts. He often ignores me and belittles me for no reason, and I also think that he's kind of a fake person, but he also has decent enough taste in music and film and can be interesting when he feels like being civil.

What hit me for love exposure was realizing (during the scene at the beach iykyk) that every minute of this 4 hour behemoth was indeed necessary and the brutal runtime completely intentional for the that last hour to really hit.
>>
>>204599457
Nah, more like a failed normie. Knowing him so closely has made me aware of how fake normie socialization is. He is permanently on Discord chatting with friends, yet when I see him and his friends I realize how cold and distant the relationships really are, and how much escapism is really going on. People use socialization and relationships as excuses to not work on themselves and solve their problems.

>I can barely do integrals
Does that eeally matter, even? Calc 1 and 2 integrals are rather tricky to calculate but are not interesting problems other than by virtue of mechanic fashion used to solve them. Solving them feels a bit exotic at first, but after a while it just becomes a bunch of complicated arithmetical operations. I guess you wouldn't be ashamed if you couldn't calculate the square root of 1449 up to two decimal cases by pencil. It is the same with most elementary integrals. I doubt I could solve integrals of an elementary calculus for engineers course exam in a timely manner, but I'm not ashamed of it.

Even though I was enjoying every minute of this movie I was still questioning why this film was so long up until this scene happens and then it sort of hit me like, yeah okay the relentless runtime did put me in this same sort of state as the two lead characters.
Also it helps that the film has an amazing soundtrack
