If I say the name of the show though it sorta ruins the whole surprise

Thanks to the anon the other week talking about this. I actually watched it once last night and again tonight because I only half watched it the first time while doing other things. This is really not a movie you can get away with half watching. It's just so well composed in all the ways a good movie should be. It's a slow burn psychological/supernatural movie so if any of those things aren't for you then this movie isn't it. Such beautiful film work and cinematography, outstanding sound design, amazing writing/dialog, really noteable editing and storytelling, great characters with actors who absolutely nailed their roles. It's hard to give full praise without giving spoilers but the entire movie is pretty much two people in a trailer but the storytelling is so excellent you are constantly redetermining who the characters are, what kind of story is being told and what kind of universe they're living in (supernatural, practical, etc.) to the point everything constantly feels mysterious. And the way that atmosphere is set heightens that feeling tenfold. All around wonderful film. Highly recommend. I also highly recommend watching it with subtitles because they are Australian actors delivering lines in hush tones throughout most of the movie and so much can get lost.
>>
>>204608431
Also, can I say how fucking much I love that poster design? Such fucking great design. All it needs is a little tweaking here and there (mostly with the rain blur on the red background) and it would be perfect.

Image quality is fine. I'm no expert but probably between 720 and 1080. Reliability is a whole other story. I stream through a Fire Stick so take that for what it's worth. But I do have me Fire stick connected via ethernet so there should be no excuses. Service can be perfect for hours on end but sometimes you can get it really laggy and spotty. And sometimes some channels won't load at all and some will be fine. I haven't tested it on my laptop yet but my main issue seems to be with the streaming app and/or firestick because the functionality on the app (switching channels, scrolling through directories, etc) is really buggy. The app will just reboot out of nowhere constantly, mostly if you're just hitting too many buttons on your controller in a set amount of time.

>buts that not a horror game
I’ve never played anything that filled me with more dread. I also love Dead by Daylight but that game stopped being scary 600 hours ago. I recently played RE 1, 0, and 2 and enjoyed them a lot but I think I’m gonna play Alien Isolation before moving on to RE3

Agreed. Good creative kills and incredible practical effects. Loved the killers POV and a more straight forward take on the “retarded murdered soul back for revenge” schtick. Again, my main gripes were the unnecessary/awkward exposition pauses and some of the actions of the characters. The setting was fucking gorgeous. I love forest/woods horror kino

Nah there are good and weird horrors but it's the start to studios noticing a market so there's also a lot of horror by formula and studio executive. some of that means studios backed shit they might not have before, or distributors did, but it also means a lot of shit that's too soulless and well produced to even be schlock.

I've finished all the childs play movies and what I most want to talk about is the last two. I thought curse of chucky was terrible and went into cult expecting more of the same but it was awesome. They tapped into the mood perfectly. andy jobbing in two seconds for the cruelest possible ending was perfect.
I think I still like bride the most just because tilly is in peak form in that one but cults a close second for me. I hardly even remember the first two now except that I did really like the first one. three was the most offensively bad one, and I thought seed was TOO stupid. And the kid fucking sucked so hard. I wasn't going to watch the tv series after thinking curse was lameo but after cult, I think I'll give it a shot.

My dad and older brother both have full heads of hair. Genetics are weird, my grandpa went bald early too and apparently it skips the first grandkid or something. It’s honestly weird how much I DIDN’T get picked on in high school for it. Maybe it’s because I was a big dude or mostly friendly to everyone.

I don't expect this to be a popular opinion but I was most impressed with the loooong drive through the woods at the end of the movie. The audience is put right on the wavelength of the final girl character. She basically just ran away from the big stupid 'how to put the baddie to rest' plot so you're just waiting for the killer to jump out at her the whole time but it just goes on and on and on, and then you realize this is just going to be how she feels for the rest of her life. It was an excellent perspective shift and made me feel a different way than any other slasher I've seen.
it is funny that both this and strange darling ends with a girl taking a looong drive with an old, salt-of-the-earth woman character who just shows up out of nowhere.
