Why hasn’t any theatrical film been able to portray this character better than a cartoon from the 90s?He was basically a side character in The Dark Knight, and he’s a chaotic madman with no real motive in Batman ForeverHe’s one of the more complex and sympathetic characters in the Batman universe and he deserves to be the main villain in his own film.
Nolan should've brought him back for Dark Knight Rises
>>204644780There has never been a good live action film that could rival the cartoon or Arkham games.Batman just doesn't work as a movie for whatever reason.
>>204644780>>204644821TDK did the character justice and you both are goddamn contrarian retards
>>204644821>Batman just doesn't work as a movieNEEDS INNER MONOLOGUE TO WORK
>>204644780>He’s one of the more complex and sympathetic characters in the Batman universe and he deserves to be the main villain in his own film. The problem with Two-Face is that he's uninteresting outside his origin story. Once that's done with his gimmick of opposites being representative in everything gets old quick. He's a character who I think would be more interesting in the court room than being some icon gangster, but doing that wouldn't make him a villain anymore.
>>204645478>>204646159TDK got it mostly right by showing enough of DA Harvey Dent to give the audience the pictureBut the thing that TDK omitted the fact that Bruce and Harvey are old college buddies, and one of the reasons that Batman doesn't kill is because he refuses to give up on Harvey is a glaring omission in my eyesIf The Batman had just introduced Harvey Dent as Gotham's DA and Bruce's old friend they would be perfectly poised to do The Long Halloween but they didn't and it sounds like we're getting some dog's ass Joker story instead
>>204646503Hush is more kino
SAY IT
>>204644821A lot of it depended on the episode but TAS's strength was figuring out how to balance the inherent cartoonishness and the decidedly grim setting.Developing Bruce Wayne as a character and then adding the Batman persona onto that was something that none of the Batman films actually did. The Nolan films' Bruce Wayne was basically just Christian Bale reprising his role as Patrick Bateman.
>>204644821>Batman just doesn't work as a movie for whatever reason.Mask of the Phantasm is one of the best Batman stories made and that's a movie.
>>204644807>muh RachelHe literally had no other motives except for that, how the hell would he serve in a sequel?
>>204648714If he fired that pistol, he'd cut the webbing of his thumb with the slide
>>204649802>slideThe person who drew that picture has never seen a gun in real life and has no idea how it works. More so, they're entirely opposed to learning how a gun works, even if that knowledge is required for them to draw one correctly.
>>204644780>Why hasn’t any theatrical film been able to portray this character better than a cartoon from the 90s?That goes for every Batman character
>>204650767Alfred has been consistently kino.
>>204644821And Arkham games draw pretty much entirely from the cartoon.
>>204649802>>204650751Twist: it’s a fake gun that will just say BANG! When fired.
>>204644780 jordan peterson lookin mf
>>204644780His story in Dark Knight dovetails with the Joker's plan perfectly. Combined Long Halloween and Killing Joke very well.
>>204644821This
>>204651506This is weirdly true. There have been good versions of Alfred, some great versions and some just okay ones, but there has never been a bad Alfred.
>>204644807>>204645478>>204646503How would you keep him alive for a sequel? I'm thinking make the reveal of his face the ending, have him kill the latina bitch who betrayed them, save his confrontation with Gordon and Bruce for the third movie. I'm alright with TDKR never existing.
>>204646503>and it sounds like we're getting some doggie style in the ass Joker story insteadFTFY
>>204651729The one in The Batman was pretty shit.
>>204647106Raped. The Joker was raped.
>>204644780>What if we gave ONE guy .... TWO personalities. One is a good lawyer, the other... A CURRRYYAAZEEE CRIMINAL !!! and we'll call him ... hmm Two-Face , yeah that's the ticketDo americans really think this is a complex and sympathetic character?
>He’s one of the more complex and sympathetic characterscomic book movies are for children. children are incapable of appreciating complex and sympathetic characters.
>>204644780The transformation into Two-Face is the only interesting part of Harvey's story. After that he's just another knock-off Dick Tracy villain.
>>204644780>He was basically a side character in The Dark KnightNo he wasn't. He was the driving force in the movie, it's just that Heath Ledger overshadowed him so much
