If Norm MacDonald were still with us, I think he could have had a real honest shot as a semi-dramatic character actor in his later years. If Adam Sandler of all people could do it, so could Norm. He came into his own as an "old chunk of coal", developed some stage presence, and as a fan of outlaw country music he probably would have enjoyed bit parts in shows with a Western or otherwise "rural" setting. He was handsome when he wasn't "putting on weight for a role" (nohomo, I've heard random women gush over Norm), he had some grit, and easily could have played parts like an ornery old sheriff. Of course he would always be a little quirky, that's Norm, but that's sometimes called for. He could have fit right in on the Twin Peaks revival, or any Tarantino or Coen Bros film. But things suck so now we'll never know. Thanks for reading my blog.
