Cherry Falls is pretty forgettable until fucking Jay Mohr in a wig walks into a high school orgy and yells "class dismissed" and starts stabbing people, but that was too little too late. It's very much a late 90s horror in every single way, if you're into that stuff definitely give it a watch. I also went into this completely blind and was pleasantly surprise to see Brittany Murphy, she was an absolute qt and i got sad when i remembered she died. Also, fellow footfags, there's a great scene in this you'll like.

I also finished the Hammer Karnstein trilogy, will make a separate post for that later.

During October, a lot of people who are just getting into horror post here. They're still watching stuff like TCM, Evil Dead, and Hellraiser for the first time, so a lot of discussion is more mainstream movies. >I know what you did last summer
Idk how this was a pop culture icon of its time. The movie isn't suspenseful in any way really, and it fails horribly in the "slasher" aspect. I wouldn't call it a slasher, but it has an antagonist that holds that role. It has a cast of known actors and had all the marketing at the time, but the movie legit blows, won't even bother with the sequel

Based. Expect negative reactions to that opinion since Ravager made a lot of people butthurt for some reason but I agree.
It's a completely unique viewing experience. there's something about the actors aging that makes it feel like you're actually watching a life being lived.

When the time/world/universe jumpcut stuff started up I thought it was going to lose itself in the chaos and run out of steam quickly, but it just kept getting better and stayed mysterious and cohesive without being expositional. The pacing was genuinely fucking perfect to where it just kept adding up in a satisfying way. Just wonderfully fun!

Don't know if it's the same person but yes there is a couple of spergs here who try to limit the discussion to the same old movies in a shallow way because they don't have much to say, it's just a circlejerk, and whenever new movies are discuss they try (and fail) to stifle the discussion through ad hominem nonsense etc.
I remember one trying hard to stop ppl from talking about VHS Beyond for instance but he ultimately didn't succeed. It's a strange autistic trait because ultimately we join the discussions that interest us and let the others go ahead.

All of the other movies here >>204936076 have a good reputation on average with many ppl vouching for them. Kolobos and Swallow much less so, particularly the former: an obscure release that doesn't really have any traction even as a cult movie. It has less than 100 reviews on imdb, it's virtually ignored on most "best slashers etc" lists and the directors' careers didn't go anywhere. It's essentially not mentioned outside of /hor/

Problem with /hor/ is that it's mostly americans, you can tell this by how many people get filtered by Argento and Fulci and the amount of plotfags. /film/ is a bunch of cunts but they're much less stupid, because there's less americans there, also less zoomers than here, and it's funny how you can almost always tell who the zoomers are by their opinions alone, they're extremely stupid and contrarian opinions, and when you disagree strongly with them or mock them they sperg out.
