Can’t believe I was able to see this masterpiece again in theaters tonight. I really don’t see how it gets any better than this, bros.
>>205033731Suspiria is good, but Phenomena is better
>>205034149I like JCon/Phenomena but I can’t agree with that on principle.
>>205033731Worth several rewatches, must look particularly stunning on the big screen
>>205033731I think the music plays a big part in that.
everything ok op?
>>205038710He probably needs to change pants
>>205038710Emotional night :)
>>205033731>>205034149Have been watching both of these every year since 2008. I love this mf like you wouldn't believe, i'm legitimately gonna cry when he dies.
>>205037184Her nose is very wrong.
>>205039819>I love this mf like you wouldn't believeSame. Fortunately Argento secured his legacy a good 40-50 years ago. >>205039831That’s just a zany caricature. Here’s a nice one:
>>205033731OP you're special to me
>>205037290>>205037571Before I pass out, I just wanted to point out how crazy it was being so close I could see smile lines on Harper’s face in one scene. I also heard things in the surround soundtrack I’ve never heard before in stereo. It’s a film truly meant to be seen on the big screen. It’s an experience.
>Nobody believes me when i say this (2018) is genuinely one of the best films made in the last couple of decades>they all see the runtime and groan or immediately suspect it to be woke trash
>>205033731>>205034149both are good but Opera is better
>>205034149this movie was such a mess like does it even have a script or did they make it up as they went along?
>>205041216Thanks anon, you’re Special to Me too!
>>205033731Damn I wish I could see it on the big screen. Were they showing it with english or italian dubb?
>>205042129I made an Opera grid awhile ago too
>>205034149That ending tho
>>205042418English.
I just have to say it: I still think about Jess all the time even when I’m not staring at pictures of her or rewatching clips… it’s ridiculous but I’ve never been so captivated by someone in my life and I can only hope I get to do this every year from now on.
>>205041476100%. Suspiria is about the senses first and foremost
>>205048493Phenomena too i say.
>>205048428Great hair in picrel.
>>205048428attainable. You deserve better, like a real live woman
>>205041991>they all see the runtime and groan or immediately suspect it to be woke trashThose are valid criticisms when compared to the original. The remake isn’t irredeemable but it is too long/gay and generally lacking in soul.
>>205041991The remake isn't even one of the best films of its own year. It's not good.
>>205050723>>205050789I will find a present-day clone of prime Jessica Harper or I will die trying.
>>205053601Godspeed, anon.
>>205053601I think this is my favourite picture of her you've posted, the tummy, the forearm hair, the lowrise jeans, the serious look on her face, all really do it for me.
>>205053601based
>>205050702True
>>205055062>I think this is my favourite picture of her you've postedThat’s a great choice! Here’s the full picture. I love how it’s so hi-res even the crop looks fantastic.
>>205056723Nice, hadn't seen the full picture, didn't know they were bell bottoms. Filename is very correct.
>>205059217For some reason, bell bottoms were really popular among boomer women. I’ve always dug that style
>>205060010They were big in the 70s, even dudes wore them.
>>205060729Yeah, probably while dancing to disco too kek.
>>205033731>ITT: Times you acted like Suspiria
>>205033731Name of the girl you went with?
>>205062090A retarded eastern european stole my lighter.
>>205062228That's funny anon.
>>205034149>*iron maiden starts playing*
>>205062765YOU'LL DIE AS YOU LIVEDIN A FLASH OF THE BLADE
>>205062765The funny thing is that the same movie also has the greatest piece of music ever composed for a horror film: https://youtu.be/rJZ__uy7T_Y?si=MMiY4V39FPLwkvyd
>>205062228This was a personal pilgrimage anon, no way I’d invite an arthoe to such a momentous occasion.
>>205064399I just always imagine I'm watching a movie with Jess, she's just sitting next to me and sometimes smiles in my direction.
We're all schizos here.
>>205033731how didn't she notice the barbed wire?
>>205060010Bell bottom came from army surplus
>>205065968I’m not schizo, just a really big fan; however I would absolutely kill for this:>I'm watching a movie with Jess, she's just sitting next to me and sometimes smiles in my direction.I did also find a song sometime back where she sings my name and it kinda fucked me up. I could self-insert for one brief second…
>>205033731Mid!
>>205066283I’ve always interpreted blue lighting as darkness in Suspiria.
>>205033731reminder that retard bauman unironically thinks the remake is better than original.
>>205062765>featuring music by Motorhead
>>205069673Yes, RLM has shitty opinions. I'm aware of this.
>>205069673>>205070644Never been able to take them seriously after finding this out, not that I ever did in the first place.
>>205070613>>205063488Low budget italian slasher flick has A) better cinematography b) better sound track c) hotter actresses than modern big budget hollywood flicksSAD
>>205071285Even the shittiest of italian exploitation garbage will have better photography and music than any modern Hollywood movie. Italians are artesans, Hollywood is a factory.
>>205071285This applies to both Suspiria and Phenomena, of course.
Someone needs to do a DNA test on her, she looks so much like Snood it's kind of creepy. She must be a relative.
>>205033731https://vimeo.com/321030224Why is this a masterpiece?Consider me filtered, had to bump it up to 1.5 speed 20 minutes in, and I don't see the point of it, felt like a fever dream, without any tits. The academy was certainly interesting to look at, and it's enough to make me curious about the remake, but as it is, just reminds me why I hate 70s schlock.
>>205076289Open mouth, insert Drano
>>205076289
>>205039819>gonna cry when he dies.and ill show you his ritualistic death
>>205076389I liked the spoopy music. Sure, it was shot nice, but what's the point of it? Everyone is overacting, the gore is trash, the twist is shit, thank goodness it wasn't too long and it can be watched at high speed.
>>205074957>she looks so much like Snood it's kind of creepy. It’s the other way around: Snood looks so much like her.
>>205074957>looks so much like Snood
>>205076845Tell me your age and your three favourite films.
>>20508037322DriveTaxi driver American psycho
>>205079124Not that guy but it’s mentioned in a lot of these threads.
>>205081474I don't see it
>>205069673I would agree with bauman's opinion on this one. To me the original while beautiful and entrancing has kind of already showed all of its cards by the 2nd half. I would compare it to something like going to a titty bar. The babes would already be half naked and you go there with an expectation to see tits so by the time they show their tits it doesn't blow you away as much. The remake however is like an exhibitionist that keeps its head down biding its time scouting for the best spot to maximize bystander kda. It is totally engorged leaking a trail from the thought alone of the crime it is about commit until it can no longer contain itself and then booooom its coats are completely unfurled from the sheer force of the climax to the audience's horror as they get covered in no no juices. Both films are great but I really loved the remake's final act
>>205039819wtf this nigga is still alive?
>>205081986
>>2050419912018 isn't actually woke but it is bloated in runtime with that pointless political context subplot. Still higher highs than 1977, though I love that one too.
>>205083184There's a slight resemblance and that's only when i'm looking for it.
>>205083661Well, they both have a face.
>>205083339The original has more highlights on average.>>205083661>>205084529I can see it but I wouldn’t go as far as saying they share the same DNA or whatever that guy said.
