THIS REVIEW WAS TYPED ENTIRELY ON A MECHANICAL KEYBOARDjust finished this - not bad. kind of a woman's film, but all the running around in lingerie was pleasant.I feel like long shots that are just a excuse to play half a great song is kind of cheating (like in I Saw the TV Glow), but I can't really blame them.
>>205040112you're not truly experiencing October until you listen this, the Goosebumps theme, and the X-Files theme.

I miss being a kid in the 90s and catching random movies on cable or going to Blockbuster and picking out something based solely on how crazy looking the cover is and discovering absolute kino. You don't get that anymore because everything is so overexposed with the internet. We have to go back.

This is complete garbage. I can't believe they unironically say Kubrick had 200 IQ and his continuity errors have deeper meaning. And even beyond that, the doc is just devoid of anything interesting.

Art the Clown becoming THE 2020s horror icon basically overnight with the 2nd and 3rd films got me thinking. Are there any horror icons from the 2010s? The best I could come up with was Annabelle
I have three options for Halloween.>1Stay home and binge a bunch of horror films, with all the comfort that entails; can choose the movie, perfect temperature, get as cozy as I want>2Go to my local theater and watch a double feature: The Substance followed by the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and then grab a burger on the way home>3Go to a drive-in theater and watch Nightmare Before Christmas, The Shinning and Night of the Living Dead. I'd have to bring good from home for dinner and I've never been to a drive-in theater so I don't know if I'll enjoy it.What sounds like the best plan?
>>205044097
>>205044303I'd do 2 because it would be cool seeing TCM in theaters.
>>2050443033!
>>205044097All Hallows Eve came out in 2013 so Art would technically be a 2010s icon. Sam from Trick r' Treat and Victor Crowley from Hatchet got pretty popular in the 2010s.
>>205044303>>205044362>>205044370Now that I think about it, in theory I could probably do 2 and because of the schedule I could still get to the drive-in theater and catch Night of the Living dDead, provided there's still room for parking.
>>205044097Idk if it's still the case but you used be able to find a lot of merch of the killer from Happy Death Day.
>>205042405Good watchshort story is betterhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL2_cphmyFs
>>205044303Seconding seeing TCM in a cinema although the drive through has style. Hate to ask but are you on your own?
>>205044528That might be the best option, and there most likely will be parking space by the third movie from my drive-in experiences. The first movie is usually the most packed.
>>205044528Even better. Make the most of it!

>>205044347eh>>205044376>All Hallows Eve came out in 2013 so Art would technically be a 2010s iconI guess, but no one really cared about All Hallow's Eve or even the first Terrifier until Terrifier 2 came out>Sam from Trick r' Treat that's a good one I missed>Victor Crowley from HatchetI had to look up what he looked like. I really want to watch TCM in theaters.>>205044581It's very likely, the first movie is bound to be packed because it's Nightmare Before Christmas so that'll have a lot of families. Shining will be the great filter and I don't know how many people will be willing to go to a midnight showing of a black and white, 1960s movie, so at that point the place might be much emptier.>>205044586I'm really tempted to do it. Even better, after TCM I'll have a couple of hours to eat and rest, so I'll be able to decide if I'm in the mood to drive to see a third film.

You’ll Never Find Me (2024) – A Worth a Watch with a lot of artistic dialog *expertly* delivered, it makes good use of its two-person cast. The lines are always powerful, but a little *over-done* in parts -- eyebrow-raising in their floweriness I might say, but I’m not gone to criticize the dialog as being “unbelievable”, because the world of cinema is an AMPLIFIED REALITY anyway. The setting is limited, like the cast: it’s a comfy, if cluttered, little trailer in cheap court in Australia, in a HOWLING RAINSTORM, and you don’t get far beyond its confines. A bearded man with an eternally hangdog expression calls it his lonely home, but during the storm he gets an unexpected visitor: a young shoeless woman who keeps changing her story about how she got into the locked mobile home park, and where she came from before that. It’s nicely constructed in many ways, with one quietly tense moment after another, and I can NEVER fault the quality of the acting -- but the overall story is a bit of a GENERIC one, and you’ll have it figured out before you get very far. However, a movie, like life itself, isn’t just about beginnings and endings; it’s all the little pieces in between that make up the experience. You can do some nice things with an old setup. That said . . . the basic story of anything is like a container that ultimately limits *what* pieces you can fit into it, and it would have been a better movie all around -- and a better bottle for all that fancy dialog -- if it had been conceived with more originality. In the end, we are left with a question: Were the happenings supernatural or NOT? Yes, I’m afraid it’s one of those.
>>205045553Considering the premise, the description makes me think of the cryptic The Caller
>>205045671The Caller sounds A LOT more original than You'll Never Find Me. Actually I want to watch it now! Thanks for the recommendation.

I don't know what to watch tonight>>205051094Nice
>>205051164So you'll continue to not see big booba then. Your loss.
>>205051346Lifeforce is kino trash though
>>205051346TCM 2 is camp kino
>>205051427Lifeforce is completely worthless aside from the naked woman
Has anyone else seen KM 31? It has one of the scariest ghosts I've ever seen in a horror movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMO_9KKRzs4
Has this Halloween season lived up to your expectations? Only 2 days left..
Rewatching Lake MungoMatthew faked the entire thing by super imposing the images of Alice onto the photographs, right?
Who was the Hellraiser in Hellraiser? Who raised hell?
>>205051346He never made another huge, genre-defining hit, but few directors do. TCM 2, Lifeforce, Eaten Alive, and The Funhouse are good.
>>205051679
>>205051679That ugly woman with the sharp shoulders
>>205051346All of thee are good to varying degrees
>>205051611It feels like the movies aren't hitting me the same way this year, but I think after October's over I'll look back on it fondly. Some good shit, some bad shit, and fun posting on /hor/.It definitely gets harder each year to find something amazing though.
>>205051880>Mädchen AmickOh yeah, definitely watching this one. Even if it sucks.
>makes the cemeteries into their cathedrals and the cities into your tombsHow do you possibly stop the Demons?
>>205051997It's a competent but unexciting TV movie

>>205052606>"you mistyped the captcha">mfwother than that, watch nightbreed
>>205052606Nightbreed Director's Cut
This was supremely kino. Dumb 80s giallo with lots of boobs and some fun kills. And holy shit was Serena Grandi hot. Kind of like a big boobed Debbie Harry mixed with Gina Gershon or something.
>>205046134>I also liked the face revealIt was only a pleasant surprise because it explained why the character was completely incompetent at handling gun
>>205052063movie?
>>205052964Demons (1985)
>>205052875This movie stars two of the hottest Italian women of the 80s (Serena Grandi and Sabrina Salerno) Pic unrelated
>>205051346Eaten Alive is good though.
>>205049873He's probably still alive. I don't think they'd kill one of the leads off-camera.>>205050534Chud is /ourguy/
>>205051617He faked the initial more obvious ghost appearances. He didn't do anything past the images early in the movie, the stuff in the credits is real.
>>205052875It's really a feast for the eyes that one, every shot looks amazing.
>>205052875>Serena GrandiBased, she turned boys into men. My sexual awakening was Rimini Rimini (1987), her and Eleonora Brigliadori.
>>205040009>My wife....she's so amusingThis movie is incredibly underrated.
>>20505287580s gialli are kino, I wish there were more.

you have watched AT LEAST 1 (one, uno, eins, ichi) Vincent Price kinema, right? RIGHT??!
>>205051346TCM2 is perfect but you're probably one of those faggots that dismisses it because it's a comedy.
>>205053722If there's not a loud audio blast zoomies won't know they're supposed to be startled
>>205053790>Director Michael Reeves wanted Donald Pleasence to play Matthew Hopkins but "American-International Pictures," the American distributor and co-financier of the film, insisted that Vincent Price play the title character and Reeves grudgingly accepted, heavily re-writing the script to better fit Price's persona, making Hopkins more imposing and menacing instead of pathetic and effeminate as originally intended. Upon meeting Price for the first time, Reeves told the star, "I didn't want you and I still don't want you; but I'm stuck with you." Price however, did not take this lying down, and after one of their arguments told the director, "Young man, I have made 84 movies. How many have you made?" Reeves, who up to that point had only made the critically reviled The She Beast (1966), and The Sorcerers (1967), responded defiantly, "Two good ones!" causing Price to laugh loudly.
How would you lads rank the folk horror triumvirate? For me it goes:The Wicker Man>The Blood on Satan's Claw>WitchfinderWitchfinder is interesting because it's the odd one out having no supernatural stuff involved but very human terror for the most part.
>>205053364>3h 30min Sergio Corbucci comedyLol, that certainly sounds like... something.
>>205053790>I am Hopkins, Witchfinder General.
binging Tales From the Crypt today for a hit of seasonal smack.Weather never turned autumnal and films just aren't putting me in that Halloween headspace. I need that high-camp 80/90s commercial TV production with the crazy Dutch angles, stark colorful lighting, theatrical sets and simple pulp comic morality tales- very comfy dose of nostalgia. Although I like horror in many varieties old and new, I think this is what I'm imagining when delving through the vintage scrap heap for "horror" but it only really existed on television and a few campy features from that specific filmmaking era
>>205054098>Reeves died in London a few months after the film's release. After shooting Witchfinder General, he was at work on an adaptation of The Oblong Box. He was taking tablets to help him sleep. On the morning of 11 February 1969, Reeves was found dead in his bedroom, aged 25, in Cadogan Place, Knightsbridge, by his cleaning lady. The coroner's report stated that Reeves's death (from a barbiturate overdose) was accidental, the dosage being too marginal to suggest intentionpity
Why does Qbittorrent suck so fucking much? Always crashing. Is there a better alternative?

>>205054149Lol yeah that's the tv cut, it was often split in two episodes. I'm sure the theatrical cut is also avaiable but honestly it flies away. It's technically a anthology but they jump from story to story until they end so it's not tiring to watch.
>>205056254>The Muppy
>>205051880Didn't care for Eaten Alive but hey, it was only his second horror out of the gate. The only real stinker I've seen from him is Spontaneous Combustion. Even The Mangler was surprisingly good.
