In this household, we hate Scott Baio
It's herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIHUv2ooG38
>>205084711Eccentric movie. Great cinematography (prefacing it w/ "it's shot on 35 mm film" was a bit cringe though). Too much music throughout the movie, a bit overstylized but at the same time a narratively refreshing movie in the way it's yet another one that shits on woke expectations and goes in the opposite direction.Worth a watch
This one was alright. I was expecting more of a Halloween theme, but there was just a little glimpse of a Halloween party and some people in costumes.First half is very typical horror movie set-up without a whole lot happening, second half is where it starts getting entertaining, although Tony Fields did some heavy lifting with his performance
alright it's finally time to watch this. lets get weeny.

Can someone explain the ending of "The Last Man on Earth" to me?So the colony of vaccinated people want to kill Morgan because he goes around killing the zombie-vampires, even though they do the exact same thing during the night instead of during the day? Makes no sense. I think the colony are supposed to be duplicitous hypocrites that only want to kill him because he's a pureblood and they're all vaxxies, while trying to posthumously justify it with flawed morality. That's how I reasoned it out.Am I missing something?

>>205086229well maybe whoever it is should stop looking like her
>>205086205He was killing any vampire he saw because he thought they were all the same. The ones at night were the dumb zombie types, but in the daytime he'd go looking for vampires to stake and he'd end up killing a bunch of the smart ones while they were trying to sleep
>>205086205yes if you check out the synopsis of the novel I Am Legend that it's based off, it makes it more clear that they are not the morally righteous ones, but instead have the same human flaws of us vs. them as before.

>>205086610>audience expects the man is the assailant and the woman is the victimLiteral horror genre cliche or just a genre cliche in general. Like you said, it goes in the opposite direction. There's nothing '''woke''' about that lol.

Why does Sissy Spacek like getting naked so much?
>>205086792kek, this image reminded me - "oh yeah... I need to go back and check out that freeze frame". lo and behold.
>>205086392I thought the vaxxies were holed up in some militaristic compound. They were just taking naps in abandoned buildings, knowing full well there was a pureblood Chad on the loose? Makes a bit more sense, but still, it makes you wonder who the real "dumb ones" are.>>205086413They explain that a little bit in the movie, but the previous anon's explanation also sheds light on why Morgan was supposed to be the so-called "real monster" the entire time. Sometimes you just gotta stake a mudblood, ya know?
>>205086920>Literal horror genre clicheWrong. While it has occurred, it's rare and even rarer these days as horror and other genres have tried to banish any race/gender from being the culprit except for one. In this otherwise obvious sense, the movie's antiwoke, and also in other aspects/decisions/characters' dynamics
Alright /hor/, this might be my last movie of the month. Do I throw on WNUF (which I’ve never seen) or Halloween (which I’ve seen many times) OR Halloween III: Season of the Witch (which I’ve seen many times as well and is also very based)

>>205087049Halloween or Halloween 3
>>205087049I just started WNUF, I say that
>>205086956It’s pretty fucking elaborate for just a millisecond of screen time eh?
>>205087125Give a brief, spoiler-free comment about it when you finish. I'm interested in it
>>205084112Holy basedPicking some up today
>>205087078I'm being facetious but they're literally vaxxies in the film. The whole plot plays out the same way that COVID hysteria did. Almost makes me wonder if it was predictive programming.
>>205085937Watched both original and remake this month.
>>205087034>the movie's antiwokeI'm not a chud but I thought it was definitely aimed at women. You have a immoral male character who is somewhat pathetic for his extramarital actions, and many female characters are given screentime.sure some are stupid, but they're almost put up as the stupid character to counter the MC who is beautiful, dangerous, smart etc.. modern critics want a balance but to then ensure the scales are always slightly tipped one way if you know what I mean.it also had bdsm scenes (but actually she's in control teehee) and a true crime angle, so you know who the audience is.
>>205087049WNUF is a very love it or hate it kind of movie. If you're not into it within five minutes, it's not going to win you over. In fact, if you're not into it immediately, you'll grow to hate it by the time it's over because it goes out of its way to be frustrating. It's basically plotless. It's a pure nostalgia piece. I love it and watch it every Halloween.
>>205087034>WrongExcept it's been a horror genre cliche since the dawn of film making>rare and even rarer these daysIt's not rare at all. The movie isn't '''anti-woke''' just because it rebukes cliches.

Does anyone know where to find the Halloween Mega Tape? WNUF was pretty good.
>>205087385Is that the trollop Darcy?
>>205087391>I thought it was definitely aimed at women. It was woman-centered and the main character's a woman but it features a woman villain and it is VERY critical of women's decision-making process in the scene where the experienced cop warns his hasty shallow stupid partner that they should be cautious and follow procedure. Being anti-woke does not mean being anti-woman.>it also had bdsm scenes (but actually she's in control teehee)No she's not, he was the one doing the dominant roleplay.>Except it's been a horror genre cliche since the dawn of film makingIt's a fringe one. In the overwhelming majority of horror/suspense history, the man's the aggressor and the woman's the one who flees>It's not rare at all. It is. You're either not watching enough movie or trying to cherrypick those who validated your misguided impression. For every recent movie w/ that dynamic, at the very least, say, 20 w/ the opposite one could be named-- and other narrative factors contribute towards the movie's antiwoke and refreshing undertone.

>>205088046>ehh - when a woman demands you to do bdsm but gets pissed off and won't fuck you if you don't read her mind, she's in control.Kek no, that's not how it goes. Both of them are perfoming a certain routine but he was doing the aggressive part. Her stalling/having 2nd thoughts is something else entirely and isn't being onesidedly "in control" inasmuch as he could have done the same.

>>205089421>>205089691I actually think the tone is the messed up part about Terrifier films. The actors are always screaming in a genuine, agonized terror kind of way. Rather than a high pitch squeal kind of thing. But to their credit, they mix these scenes in with more campy kills and performances. For example the cookie eating scene in T3 comes right after the messed up opening and made me laugh harder than I have at a scene in a long time.
>>205089826He dismembers the entire family and leaves their body parts strewn everywhere, then bothers doing the dishes. Just good plain old comedy. Even wrings the sponge out

>>205090073Yeah actually if I would tweak anything it'd be that it didn't need to lean into the murdering as much and could have gotten away with a happier ending. There's actually a new film called Haunted Ulster Live that basically does the same Ghostwatch thing. Isn't a "release" of it yet though.
