First of all, the black character himself is a token, he's entirely immaterial regarding this subplot bc there's no hint of him hitting on Jenna's character or being boisterous or even interacting w/ her so as to build a connection. He's just there and the social proof he has derives from the fact that he's the main actor and apparently does his job well.As for Jenna's character, what she does is shown as perverse: the way the other actresses prepare her for the shoot and her glances imply a type of sensuality mixed with a punishment of her bf for exposing her (who wears a Cross necklace which she removes prior to shooting the scene) to that environment.
