>famous house was so good we need to go backContent wise, famous house was boring as fuck. The challenges were really shitty and the only conflict that happened was high school level drama that usually got resolved with hugs and crying sessions. What made famous house so much fun was a meta understanding of what was happening. It felt like there was this great deception going on and we were all in on it. It was something special that felt like it was going somewhere. It felt like something really cool was going to happen but it just didn't. They spent all this time and effort creating this fake reality show facade and convincing (most) of the contestants of it and then just randomly dropped it one day with no payoff. There was no cool plotline about computer slowly becoming unhinged, or jeremy gold becoming more psycho and turning on production. Even if the contestants didn't really buy it, seeing them slowly come to that realisation before dropping the facade fully would have been kino. It's the sense of wasted potential and all the build-up going nowhere that makes the transition to fishtank feel bad, not that fishtank content is necessarily worse than famous house content. If I had to guess why they did it so abruptly, it's probably because sneed and alexis were already wavering and seemed like they might leave, and they wanted to do the reveal before too many people were gone so they could get those reactions. A gradual reveal plotline would have been harder the fewer people were left anyway. That and possibly the whole thing about them not making any money before the reveal too.

They refused to eliminate the cash cow and went the route of profit instead. Season Three also has been plagued by early exits and some "production told me", but despite not having defining moments that derailed some semblance of an actual structured story, Sam and Jet broke down for easy money anyway.Squandered potential.
