Mare of Easttown. Very underrated. You gotta digest a pointless lesbian daugther subplot, that really feels like a quota thing because it doesn't connect to the main story. But taking that away, it's a very well done story.

>>205768652
God no, it's the most braindead scifi ever created. The only interesting story is the one with the gay nigger. All the other ones are trash
>My daugther.. is timetravel
>My grandpa... is a rusty thing eco soul...
>My kid... is a robot...
>My kid... is a robot, but from the perspective of the dad...
>My dad... is a securitron...well he changed his mind...
Literally and unironically sci fi for people that don't care about sci fi

>>205768623
That was clearly a failed pilot. After BSG, SciFi was trying to test the waters with every show being a mini-series, rather than funding a full season. They tried the same thing with that Wizard Of Oz, with their Tin Man miniseries.
I liked The Lost Room. It was an interesting idea, with a good cast.

>What are the best miniseries, /tv/?
This one had pretty unique structure, it was split into two shows basically. Half of it was the investigation of what happened and the other half was showing what happened, but instead of doing what every show after L O S T did with flashbacks they separated those halfs into different episodes. Odd episodes were investigation part and even episodes were "flashback" part. That fucking last episode felt like concentrated first season of Terror.

My boomer dad "didn't get this show" and I couldn't figure out why cause like, what's to get, and I finally figured out it's because he watched it out of order. It was back in the early 00's so I burned it for him and had to split it onto two dvds. He thought it was some pretentious artistic choice or something

I'm almost done marathoning the first ep, it's pretty good actually, will keep watching. Thanks OP
I think I can predict the ending though
he murdered her, maybe she said some racist comment or something mean and 'drove him to it', the show is going to be about misleading me into thinking someone else did it and he's innocent
Going to abandon thread so it's not spoiled though, but will bookmark the archive and check if I was mocked If I was wrong.
>>
>>205768282
I'll never forget how they set up that creepy nigga that stares him down in the first ep to be the culprit, especially with his friend Bodie covering for him twice, only to chicken out in the most reddit way imaginable and make it some unrelated rich white dude, complete with a cringe Avenger post-credit scene. Way to waste a good show.

it's a series. it's a series of episodes. it is episodic content presented in series. You do not need to have multiple series of something, you are allowed to have a single series as well

Picked one that hasn't been posted yet. It's a decent murder mystery with a mormon twist. I thought it would end up as "religious people bad" but that wasn't the case. Also you learn about mormons.
>>205802105
I liked The Wire but didn't like it this much. Jon bento was too much throughout and the pacing was too offbeat for me. The cross-casting with The Wire was cringe too, that Marlo actor fucking sucks.
>>205780096
This was decent. Mare of Eastown is a similar concept mini series that liked much more, just better done overall.
>>205777031
kek I actually watched this one. The production quality is nice and it's decent enough to finish. The Undoing, also a mini series with Kidman, is very similar in tone so you'd probably like it to.

It was supposed to be an ongoing tv series but after the original author got into a dispute with the network, only the first season was made.

It's a prequel to the British cop series with Helen Mirien, set in 1973 when her character first joined the police.

This may sound like a bit of a strange one, but Roots (1977). It has its moments where it is clearly trying to pander to social justice at the time. But for the most part, it attempts to portray what life was like in the South, the good and the bad. It's also quite funny at times, sometimes unintentionally where the tone is a bit off for the scene; like this one scene where they are playing this lighthearted cheerful tune while a slave is being chased around the slave market. Has some great characters, Chicken George is a legend, and a special guest, pic related.

Excellent show and there was supposed to be a S02 involving Russian mobsters but I guess that'll never happen.

Also, Trust is a great mini-series.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trust_(American_TV_series)

Trust is an American drama television series created by Simon Beaufoy that premiered on March 25, 2018 on FX. The 10-episode series, written by Beaufoy and directed by Danny Boyle and others, is set in 1973 and recounts the abduction of John Paul Getty III, then-heir to Getty Oil, while he was in Italy.

The show is about an innocent good boy muslim who gets screwed by the evil white system. Ofcourse the killer needed be some preppy evil white guy.

The series was retarded because they tried to make it look like violent criminals are hardened by prison when its the other way round. They were violent thugs before they were sent and away and stay the same inside.
>>
>>205818990
Prison certainly doesn't make them any better.
>>
This was about the early days at Uber and covers how they went from nothing to dominating the industry. The next season was meant to be about Facebook but I think it got cancelled which is unfortunate.
>>
>>205819110
You only ever see that level of violence in American or Brazilian type prison since they're full of nigs and muslims. Denmark prisons are peaceful and nice has 0 rape. They crime rate is so low they close down most prisons.

Not sure why people are afraid of the reality. Genetics is real.
