>>206063347Whenever this movie comes up (I’m usually the one that brings it up) I end up yelling DONDE ESTA MI ESPOSA? In a Carlton Heston accent. I don’t get many second dates

>>206063528Is Mel is turning into Welles then Russel Crowe is turning into Brando
I enjoy his interviews with Dick Cavett. His tall-tale about his father and the Stanley Steamer Airplane makes me smile
>>206063248I hate this pompous faggot. Sure, he's good in Hollywood shlock, but he sucked at Shakespeare and was the most overrated director of all time. He made Citizen Kane, okay, it's good for 40s Hollywood, was influential on commercial cinema, but never made anything even close to being that good again. I know Welles fanboys will point out Touch of Evil, Chimes at Midnight, F for Fake, etc., but these are all, despite their virtues, extremely messy films, especially Touch of Evil. Chimes is a massacre of Shakespeare and completely misinterprets everything. And F goes on way too long, meanders non stop, but admittedly was edited with a more refined touch. Still, nothing exceptional, and nothing you wouldn't expect from a talented film student. The guy was a blowhard midwit whose career was a joke.
>>206065589I find it extremely suspect that a Wisconsin born boy from a middle class family randomly met Adolf Hitler in 1920 and epically btfo him like he claimed on that show.

>>206067135He's cool for loser nerds who stutter when they talk, midwits without a classical education, and talentless filmbuffs. That's it. Have some self-respect, and stop glorifying mediocrities. Why don't you glorify Beethoven or something? Be productive with your life.
>>206067083I wouldn't be surprised if it was some Austrian with the same mustache, it used to be more common back then. If Churchill stood up and bowed from his dining table in his direction, I'm sure he met Hitler...I'm sure of it.

>>206067815Every time I criticise Orson Welles on /tv/ someone tells me I sound like Orson Welles. I feel insulted. Are you the same anon?
>>206067909I'm... me?
>>206063248Anyone seen the trial?
>>206067083Many narcissists are compulsive liars. Welles was too high IQ to lie like for example Seagal all the time, but sometimes he just couldn't help himself and invented grandiose, pompous self-serving bullshit like all compulsive liars do.
Werner Herzog
>>206069312It's terrible. Excellent sets, excellent cinematography, excellent busy acting from some side characters ruined by horrible ADR, by Perkins' K being a whiny bitch that can't shut up for a second, by Welles playing another campy Arkadin.
>>206070237Well I thought it was good. K is supposed to be a bitch
