>>206064955It's pretty much fake yeah, the whole story was by a white guy who used a black to get rich with a bogus story he mostly wrote for him.The truth is the US mostly stopped importing captured african slaves by the turn of the 19th century and the africans were rarely sentient enough (or unhappy enough) to reflect on their past before arriving in the US. They didn't really realize where they were, or what the nature of the world was. They couldn't go back home if they wanted to, they didn't understand where "home" was (and this became an issue with the Amistad incident). They just knew they had been captured, were now owned by weird white people and got food/shelter for working.
