So Yutani’s headquarters is in Chicago? I saw the John Hancock and the Trump Tower in the skyline as well as Lake Michigan. Odd choice but I like it. In the original Alien, there was not enough screentime to flesh this out. In Aliens, it wasn't the main focus but it still elaborated on it a bit. It has this entire Obligatory Diversity Quoats cast but at no point does it stop to consider and think about its universe.

WHY should companies hire people with families or other strong ties or possible regrets when doing this sort of work? The braindead writer only sees "MUH POOR STREET URCHIN HAD NOTHING BETTER TO DO AND THE PAY WAS GOOD". But the braindead writer doesn't seem to realize that the employer can also consider whether to hire someone or not. These ships should be staffed with nothing but robotic operators (whatever flavor they come in in the big current thing's universe) and young men with no serious ties to their homes. Maybe divorced/family less older people too.

I'm willing to bet that 9/10 Alien:Earth fans think Covenant was "silly and stupid" and that Ridley is out of touch or whatnot, but even he, with his low effort flop movie, put more effort into thinking about his character's rationality than any episode of this series ever will.
