I sort of like that it'll be in the 80s since there aren't a lot of nu-horrors that take place in the 80s and I'm not sure there has been a zombie 80s movies released since the 80s ended, so tha's my only excitement for it.
It's gonna suck though, I just know it. But it couldn't be any worse than Trash's Revenge which comes out alongside it for fuck knows why.

Just watched An American Werewolf in London. It was alright, the opening and the stuff with the zombies was great, as well as the transformation. The movie kind of drags on for most of its runtime though, and when it seems like it’s going to get interesting with the werewolf killing sprees, it cuts away from almost every kill.

Terrifier movies seem so gay and retarded but I think Art looks really cool as a monster design, what a shame. I just watched someone walk through his haunted house at Universal
>>
>>214343292
He was cool when he was used sparingly in the first film, but they keep putting more focus on him with the sequels, and a silent antagonist can't carry a movie that hard, especially when the movies are fucking 3 hours long, just stretched out for no reason with no ideas
>>
>>214343344
Dont forget all the feminists themes in the sequels
>>
>>214343344
Same happened with Pinhead, tards asked for more of him after 1 and then in the third film everyone found out why it was good for him to be used sparingly. The freddyfication of every horror villain is literally unstoppable if sequels are made to a movie, unless he gets jasonfied instead.

>>214343394
I agree, although with 3 not only did they overuse him, they changed his character too much.
In the first movie, Frank is the main villain. In the second movie, it's Dr. Channard. In the third movie, they had Pinhead as the main villain, so they had to recreate him and make him especially evil in the most ridiculous way, when he shined as the impartial side-threat looming over the protagonist's head.
>>
>>214343394
>freddyfication
>jasonfied
define them
>>
>>214343497
This is the real problem.
Pinhead works best as a neutral monster. He doesn't care about anything other than THE BOX and his little religion of pain. He doesn't want to take over the world, he doesn't want to steal candy from children, and he doesn't want to kill mankind. Trying to make him do any of those things will always feel wrong.

You know what I meant.

Pretty self explanatory, even Freddy got Freddyfied in his own sequels. Serious character who maybe made a couple of jokes in his first appearance becomes a non-scary jester who takes nothing seriously and cannot stop clowning around for his life.

Exactly. It's the fact that he's just added pressure that makes him interesting as a character. He's just following the rules and representing a countdown that the protag has to meet the conditions of their agreement or to outwit him.

In one of the behind-the-scenes special features, Doug Bradley said that Clive offered him one of two roles in the film: either The Hell Priest, or one of the guys moving the mattress into the Cotton home at the beginning. He said that he picked the first one because it had more screen time, but he was worried that the make-up would obscure his face too much and hurt his credit as an actor.
I think it's this really understated approach that made the character such a hit. They didn't rely so much on it, and it just happened to be awesome and develop a fanbase naturally.

Flanderisation is when a character’s inherent traits become exaggerated, but examples mentioned already like Pinhead and Leatherface are just personality transplants from other successful characters.
I would say Leatherface was somewhat flanderised in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and made into a more exaggerated version of the original incarnation but in the 2 remakes and the Netflix slop he’s just straight up a different character.

Man horror as a genre has really gone to shit.
It's all fucking pretentious as fuck copy/paste "elevated horror" NEON/A24 shit that mostly all sucks ass and is mostly (lame) thriller not even horror, or absolute dogshit D-tier Blumhouse shit.

There is this short, random porn (loosely defined) clip called "Asian in a hurry" where someone wanted to do the toast in mouth meme but for porn so it's just this Asian woman rushing around dressed for work or whatever and making toast and putting it in her mouth, then at the end she stops and pees on some cardboard or bag or something by the door, because she is running late, then leaves.
Last night I had a dream about watching a horror movie sequel where she returns home that night and spooky haunted things keep happening and the bathroom is locked and she's also locked in and can't open the windows and it's just pure red light that burns her through them so she closes the blinds, and the electric lights start turning red and burning her too so she shuts them all off and gets a blue LED flashlight. At some point she goes into the basement to pee there for now and discovered an ominous hole in the basement floor and find out this house was built on a much older ancestral house, not really a temple but like a big grand estate with shrine spirits and ancestors as guardians and now they come up towards her out of the old ruins to kill her for desecrating her ancestral grounds by peeing on the floor in the new house.
I forget what happened after that but at the end it was somehow revealed she was a Shinto priestess of some special lineage while she was backed into the gable end of the attic with a horde of demon spirits about to devour her so she got naked and blasted them with a cone of piss which banished them, putting the ancestors to rest as a result and pricing purifying the house and also she finally got to pee.

Only reason you boomer cucks are so obsessed with the 80s is nostalgia, you saw all that garbage when you were teens and kids and thought it was the best thing ever but a real movie genius like Tarantino can see past the nostalgia and realize that the 80s were DOGSHIT in all aspects.

Because the 70s are objectively kino. 80s is when the franchise remake and sequel sloppa craze began and the enjoyment of these flicks is entirely personal to you and your nostalgia.

They literally made 8 FRIDAY and 5 ELM STREET movies in the 80s. It's pure slop, a creatively bankrupt era for horror films. Cronenberg making his 12th body horror in a row also got boring fast.

any horror film that was made before the 2000s is unironically not good as a horror movie anymore. its more so a comfy watch. they lack proper atmosphere due to bad sound quality, overacting, bad lighting and outdated special effects.

The pedo being dead was the best part of Black Phone so I won't watch a film which brings him back in any form, if they got a different villain somehow connected to the original plot/house maybe I'd watch it. The pedo being dead and non existent or with his soul burning eternally in hell is the canon I choose.

Only watched 1 horror movie this morning out of the 4 total movies I watched:

FF #207. It's like a 5.5-6/10. The CGI is trash, but I enjoyed the story and how it slowly unfolded. It just kind of ends though and drags at the very end. Still enjoyed it enough.

I sperged out when I saw this scene because laptops weren't that thin in Y2K and then I realized it was a drawing pad.

Also, I saw her in a pretty bad X-Files episode last night. She's a qt. I always wondered what she was like IRL. I get interesting person vibes from her whereas a lot of scream queens like Maika Monroe just seem like normie girls who stumbled into horror accidentally.

I once watched a movie where I was rooting for the kids to die. They were just literally what you call too stupid to live. The families lives depending on hiding multiple times and the kids always either yelled, screamed, cried, ran out of hiding to get a toy, utterly dumb shit like that. I have no idea what the directors were thinking. I had to go on imdb and read the reviews to see if I was missing something but no, 7/10 reviews mentioned the kids ruining the movie and wishing they would die. Never seen that in a movie before or since it was bizarre.

I read so much good stuff about it and was really hyped to see it but at the end it was just okay. It was not creepy or anything. But it was a pretty good mockumentary
