what should i watch tonight bros?

watched recently

heretic - it was ok, redditor retard athiest guy got annoying though, cute girls
dead ringers - enjoyed, solid movie
the brood - enjoyed, simple little creature movie that was fun
videodrome - didnt really enjoy, felt like it got too schizophrenic in the second half and just sorta lost me
crash 96 - thought it was well made but was too much of a porno for me, cool vibe though
i saw the devil - not really horror but it was sorta a darker take on john wick

88 is worst. 89 is decent from the side but straight on is poor, I liked it best when I was young for some reason, I liked the slicked back hair.

95 would be fully great if the damn neck wasn't so big.

02 would be great with blacked out eyes, the lips less shaded/distinct + the nose slightly less pointed upward.

98a would be good if the eyes were blacked out, hair less flared out and silly and the forehead's size was toned down.

for me, it's Mortiis.
anyway either Vincent Price Poe films or Hammer Horror Draculas. Hell, the original 1931 Dracula.
>>
>>214554896
Mortiis' work is all pretty great, but very bombastic; not as eerie or melancholic as Lamentation, Mournlord, Burzum et al.

You're right about 1931 Dracula, but I've seen it, and I didn't like any of the Hammer Draculas except for the 2nd one, The Brides of Dracula.

I'll give the Poe films a watch.

Any of the movies based on the murder of Junko Furuta. The fact that everyone convicted has been free for 15-20 years now is a travesty. Japs should have gone full samurai and just lynched them.

Watched Strange Harvest. It was okay. Convenience store killing missed the mark by skipping and jumping around though. The whole point of death recordings is watching it unedited and uncensored, everybody's seen rekt videos. No excuse to pussify it. Might as well have kept to the aftermath scenes like the other murders. Skipping around was probably a performance problem by those actors. Seriously disappointing. Also the shootout in the woods was over the top superhuman from the killer, it also didn't match the newsreels at the end at all. Again the performance were fine in talking head style but the action scenes are just so bad. The teenager shot in her room did the best of those out of the whole cast. Embarrassing for the older actors.

The depiction of the zombies, they sorta go from being Romero The Crazies type crazy at first, which I thought was interesting. The zombies were the only remotely good thing about that adaptation, and of course they were underutilized. Should have just made an original zombie movie. The movie was nonsensical, especially if one had zero familiarity with the games.

I'm laughing thinking of someone watching Operation Raccoon City without knowing the games at all. The movie is such a compact mix of everything from the remakes of RE1 and RE2 that they waste no time trying to explain anything in detail and just relies on the audience looking out for references while it quickly goes through as man as it can.
Watching it on its own would make it seem completely ridiculous

30 years later and it's still the best dracula adaptation
what luc besson did were close. it had style, but lacked that atmosphere and detail coppola had
the performances were exaggerated. they were like children, it was cringe and that made it hard to fully take them seriously as vampires
didn't look at the cast beforehand so i was surprised to see christoph waltz appear, though it was one of his least interesting performances i've seen
haven't read the book, so as an adaptation i can't say much, but with the two compared there were things luc besson did better — like the way the ending was handled and the clear lack of keanu reeves.
as a whole however i have to say that coppola did it better

if i had to rate it i'd give besson's try a 3/5 with coppola's a pretty rigid 4/5
>>
>>214562513

I trust review numbers about as much as I trust a dog not to shit. It's not oscar material and the plot's nothing new but I've seen worse crap praised.
I will fault them on a few things though, the usual cameraman with parkinson's and the writer not understanding how acid works.

James Wan really comes up short as a director for me. Something childish about his approach. He's not half as good as the directors he looks up to. Leigh Whannell really gets the short end of the stick for his contributions.

>nooo this is such a hard choice do I drink the drug and find out where she is or do I fucking tackle and beat this kidnappers skull in until he tells me, nooooo
fuck off, there's only so much writing to be excused for the sake of art, everyone who shills this gay shit probably loves timecrimes as well. Fuck you for posting this horrendously conceited cum stain.
