JeruZalem felt a bit paint-by-numbers. It definitely feels like they ripped off Cloverfield’s plot structure and overall flow. The whole religious lore aspect was interesting, but they really missed an opportunity to dive deeper into it, especially considering where they were.Kevin had so much potential. Being an anthropologist and already having some idea of what he was looking for in the city should have been the watcher’s direct line to the mythos but they never let him explain anything. Given the Holy Land setting, it felt like a missed chance not to provide more context. It definitely feels like they ripped off Cloverfields plot structure and overall flow Kevin getting taken to an insane asylum after panicking was another weak point. It seemed like they just wanted to throw in a cliché horror setting rather than develop his character logically. His panic had a reason, but instead of exploring it, they just locked him up, which was just weird. Like you’re going to take this tourist and throw him into a cage for that? Makes no sense.Then there’s the subplot with Sarah’s dead brother. From the start, it was obvious he was going to come back somehow, but when he did, it didn’t fit the movie’s established rules where the demons are essentially zombies which are transformed living people. It seemed like the filmmakers wrote themselves into a corner and didn’t bother making his return make sense. They wanted to add emotional stakes, but it felt disjointed. We didn’t need the brother subplot; they could have found other ways to do it.Jeruzalem had some good ideas and likable characters, but it didn’t fully deliver on its potential. If they had fleshed out the lore and kept the story more coherent, it could have been a much stronger film.

Has anyone seen "Jack-O"? I thought it was pretty good as far as low budget horror goes, most of it was shot during 1988 (John Carradine died just months after shooting his scenes), but it wasn't released until 1995, Linnea Quigley has a long nude scene on it and surprisingly her character lives (usually she's the first or second one to die in horror movies), the titular monster was also pretty cool
