it is my opinion that the 1944 version of gaslight is generally better than the original 1940 version. the acting, casting, compositional shots, as well as to the changes in the overall production, including costume and set designs, whhich no doubt in large part is due to a more generous budget creating a more enjoyable viewing experience. however, i do not prefer the 1944 version over the 1940 version simply because of the exclusion of an important act. i refer of course to the swearing on a bible when the accuser claims that the lady in distress is responsible for misplacing or losing (respectively) items of interest. the former does remark after questioning the maid, "shall i ask her to kiss the bible, paula, or will you accept her word?" whereas, the 1940 version brings in two maids having each of them physically swear upon the bible, with the accused, that is, the lady in distress acting in the same manner. so you see, there really is no comparison which of the two anon ought to prefer. put simply, the 1940 version remains to this day the only correct way to watch gaslight.

>>214795482I think my political views come from experience. I actually never read political material until like a year ago.I once was waiting for the bus in Sun Valley, California and was wearing a spanish flag t-shirt. A group of neo nazi shitheads pulled up in a car and started calling me slurs and telling me to "go back to Spain". I told them to eat shit and die, and so one of these assholes got out of the car and was approaching me. I lifted a landscaping rock and threw it in his face. He fell to the ground and his teeth were shattered. He left the scene immediately, and I noticed he had a Black Sun tattoo in his back.Every experience I've had with a racist, a conservative or a hardcore evangelical christian has been a bad experience. These people's idea that every problem in their lives comes from them being victimized by immigrants, black people or jews is a cop out to not accept that they are, in fact, the haters, the grifters and the evil people. In fact, I would say the worst people I've met in my life were part of an evangelical christian church. My gf at the time, -which was a christian singer-, told me after a performance "D, I've never met people more evil than the people in that church". It's come so far that I've realized that most people that call themselves christians are not christian at all, in fact, I'd call them satanists. They don't practice any form of love, compassion or empathy, and will try to make you feel like shit for anything you do. The most christian people I've met are not even religious at all, but their actions speak for themselves. I see people like Charlie Kirk, the president and the red hat guys as complete hypocrites that only use religion as a talking point. They're not even sunday christians; they're more like christian cosplayers.

>>214795968No. It's just the standard for the 4K UHD Blu-Ray spec. Probably like 95% of 2160p movie releases are in HDR only. Get a new screen if it bothers you, or stick to 1080p Blu-Rays.
>>214795797>How are they being brainwashed? They're being brainwashed by grifters pushed by the system that convince them that the enemy is someone with less power than them, instead of realizing that the enemy is the person that controls them. Example: trans people. How in the fuck are trans niggas oppresing people. As far as I can see, trans niggas don't make anyone poor, don't exploit anyone and don't contribute politically or economically to the marginalization of no groups of people. All of that seems more like what the president, the big companies and the George Soros's of the world do, huh? But you'd rather victimize a group of powerless people because it's easier than facing the real problem.
>>214795997>These people's idea that every problem in their lives comes from them being victimized by immigrants, black people or jews is a cop out to not accept that they are, in fact, the haters, the grifters and the evil peopleand the irony is they call millenials and gen Z "lazy" while voting for the politicans who pass laws that force people making an honest living to suffer, while they sit on their ass collecting their penchant.

It's not about gratuitously victimising people (though there are individuals who make it about that), it's about opposed ideals of existence. Some people just don't buy into the extreme nominalism of something like trans ideology and hold that there are distinct sexes with their own essences and teloi and they don't just hold that because some sinister rich person whispered it into their innocent ear. What's supposed to happen in response to this disagreement? Are we supposed to just presuppose that we're wrong and have trannies talk at us until we change our mind?
>>214796282>I think he died because a Nick Fuentes fan shot himI'm not saying that the official narrative is unproblematic, but it's far less unproblematic than the Groyper one. For me, the debate about "two sexes only" is absolutely irrelevant; it literally has no influence over real, important stuff, like money or the law.>Are we supposed to just presuppose that we're wrong and have trannies talk at us until we change our mind? You can think whatever the hell you want, and being right or wrong is irrelevant. You see, there is something which is way more important than validating people's egos about them being right or wrong, and that is social harmony. You could just say "yes, there are two sexes, and I don't like trannies", and just go on with your life as usual, but conservatives are a fucking cancer on society because they always act in the following way: "yes, there are two sexes, and I don't like trannies. I will obsess about trannies, attack trannies and destroy tranny lives because I'm triggered by them. Trannies go against God.", and they are insanely proselityzing about their hate of trannies. They will not privately hate trannies and go on with their lives as a normal person would; instead, they will constantly disrupt normal situations to bring up their shitty beliefs in every occasion they find. That's the thing with the radicalized: they feel they are so right, so superior, so holy, that they can't shut the fuck up about their beliefs and they force them ON EVERYONE. These guys don't understand the live and let live sentiment at all, because they feel they found the truth and have to "redpill" everyone about it.
>>214795997American Christians arent Christian, they have a billion Christian cults all contradicting each other. There is no salvation outside the (traditional) Catholic Church. >>214796753How can he be a dunce if he stated a fact?
>>214797319I've met true christians, but most were not religious. I do agree that catholicism mogs evangelical christianity, but still, organized religion is as corrupt as any corporation is at the top. We all know the Vatican has protected pedophiles for decades now. I see religious organizations as a sort of test, and a real christian essentially has to let go of structures to find his true faith, aka, pass the test.

Seeking vulnerable people and using them to promote an ideology.I feel like we're talking past each other on this because I don't think that is an answer. How is it brainwashing as opposed to proselytizing? You're acting like it's a conjuring trick as opposed to consolidation and articulation of beliefs that are very common among many ordinary people.>For me, the debate about "two sexes only" is absolutely irrelevant; It is relevant to people who believe not just that they exist, but have distinct essences and teloi and that there are normative implications to that.>it literally has no influence over real, important stuff, like money or the law.Well they'd typically disagree. They absolutely seek institutional power and characterize opposition to their self-conception as a challenge to their right to exist.>You can think whatever the hell you want, and being right or wrong is irrelevantThis is unbelievably naive. To divorce what one thinks from one's way of life is practically impossible and the idea that one should even if one could in the case of, say, religious beliefs presupposes a liberal framework in which those beliefs are essentially taken to be of lesser truth and importance and to be primarily confined to private life. Why am I to think that trans people's beliefs about themselves are radically different? Why are you okay with their political maneuvering and public presence but not ours?
