Neither Alien, Aliens or even Alien 3 ever focused much on the androids. That stuff sorta started with resurrection when Ripley finds out that Winona Ryder's character is one and she says "you're too human to be a human" or something lame like that. Then with Prometheus we get a lot of focus on android technology From there, every installment in the franchise has been more similar to the types of sci-fi movies that tries to be existential and philosophical regarding ai (like Blade Runner and Ex Machina etc). This show probably focused more on AI than the alien threat. I'm guessing that was an active choice considering AI is very topical right now in the real world, but I'm getting pretty tired of it. I liked it better when the androids were just there.
