Just finished the final episode and decided we need another hate thread. I am traditionally a huge Alien fan, the first two films are absolute kino. Highly recommend 'Memories: Origins of Alien' documentary recently released about Dan O'Bannon/Giger/Scott collaboration. There is a wealth of creative talent in the inception of these films. Unfortunately, it feels like it stopped there.By contrast, this series is the worst, most manic, detached, and insufferable thing I have seen regurgitated in many years.Every scene, edit, character, dialogue, music selection, etc., was so horribly mismatched.I just wanted to underscore the chaotic feel of basically every aspect of this show.How was something or such poor quality made?Watching Disney slaughter Marvel, Star Wars, and now Alien is truly remarkable. All the super-woke Live Action versions of beloved original Disney IP. Yet another company like Microsoft or EA that basically destroys everything it touches.We recently unsubbed Disney+ and plan to never return.Thoughts?

Alien: Earth suffered from the same flaw that most modern films/shows have, namely that the characters have to be deliberately and incessantly retarded in order for the "plot" to progress. Every choice the characters make has to be preposterous.Even more egregious is that Hollywood is obsessed with "the genius" trope, so scripts routinely introduce a prodigy, or an artificially intelligent machine, or some otherwise wise individual... only to immediately be out of their depth because Hollywood only employs nepo idiots. Over and over again we see intelligent people written like inept morons by inept morons. Also, these writers constantly write themselves into a corner and have to just ignore what they've already shown the audience because it was a narrative dead-end. The Maginot is on a deep space research mission, now after having collected extremely dangerous alien specimens it's finally returning to Earth after 80+ years in space.>Okay, sounds like a good start.Human have developed sleep pods, which allow these crews to prolong their life substantially. >Right, I remember that from the original movies. It’s crazy how the first episode was full of extremely stupid moments and it only got worse from there. This show is up there with Rings of Power in terms of character choices, plot decisions, and nonsensical writing. Such potential, and for such a dumb show
