The Halloween Season edition Previous >>214919148
What's the first horror I watch this month, effective immediately? Anything goes.
>>214940133This isn't /mu/ but lets get some spooky music going. To make it /tv/ related this band also did a song for Return of the Living Dead https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfIop2qLy0k
>>214940180here
>>214940180
first person who says "spooky season" to me gets slapped
>>214940220>>214940234I'll watch both of these and get back with you. Thanks guys!
>>214940133
We made it, lads.Everyone grab a tankard

ITS TIME BROS
>>214940299Cheers
> It's Showtime
>stores haven't even gotten pumpkins in yet
>>214940433people who consider beetlejuice horror were sheltered children
>>214940464>get trapped with a worm that will eat you whole >sheltered
>>214940440My grocery store has had pumpkins for the past 3 weeks, at least.
Anyone have What Happens Next Will Scare You? I've been looking since it came out and nobody has ripped it and uploaded it anywhere as far as I can tell. Its basically WNUF Halloween Special 3.
22 minutes of '90s Halloween Special goodness from the creator of Eek! the Cathttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clBG93nuhC4
>>214940514it's cute and funny
>>214940531has '90s CG aliens
>>214940555and somehow made Rhea Perlman look kinda hot
LET'S FUCKING GO
>>214940248Spooky season
>>214940561Had some pumpkin beers last night and tonight. Probably more on the weekend.
Gremlins
>>214940603I can't find any around me. I'm gonna have to go into the city for them.
>>214940555how about 90s midge aliens?
>>214940603>>214940561>>214940628I'm having to work with the management of my local store to try to see what kind of pumpkin beers their distributor can bring in. I hope they have nicer options than Elysian stuff, but the pumpkin pack is classic. In the mean time, it's cheap red wine and absinthe. It's a nice coincidence that the best Bota box wine happens to come in a Halloweeny design
>>214940464 You're not entirely wrong lmao, but that isn't a bad thing. A coworker of mine grew up with old school Luthern parents in rural Nebraska. Him and his brothers were allowed to trick r treat, but they weren't allowed scary costumes (had to be shit like power rangers or superheroes) Anyway for him Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Gremlins and something wicked this way comes were pretty much the only spooky/horror adjacent thing he was allowed to watch.
>>214940735Last year I had to settle for Sam Addams pumpkin ale. I've also been on the lookout for pic related but can only find the tall boys.
>>214940299Bleh
>>214940133for me, it's this cutie
Why the FUCK are there clips from non-horror movies in my horror movie compilation?
>>214940889It's pumpkin girl for me
well? what are you watching to start the month?
Halloween isn't huge in NZ but I went to the supermarket and bought the one October related item I saw.Going to go back tomorrow because I forgot to check out the alcohol section.
>>214941010Oh also I'm going to start my month watching Night of the Living Dead, while I sip my blood soaked beverage.
>>214940593*ringing slap*
We need a list of movies that have a good October feel to them. Outside of the obvious Halloween movies. What movies do you guys usually watch to get in the mood?
>>214941033Not a movie but I'm going to binge watch Over the Garden Wall
>>214940615

>>214941230Post more charts, I lost all of mine in the Great HDD Failure (2025).
Rewatched Suspiria for the first time in a bit. Forgot how perfect the film is up until Sarah’s death. The scene where Suzy meets Sarah’s friend feels so out of place, and the occult expert just explaining the entire history of the school and witchcraft to Suzy is boring.
Which version of Dawn of the Dead is the right one to watch? I'm seeing Extended? Theatrical? Argento?
>>214941306Theatrical first time but imodesu [full frame] Argento is the best version so watch that a few years later or whatever
>>214941439Thanks, are they very different?
Don't mind me, I'm just waiting on 4k remasters of:>The Fly (1986)>Inferno (1980)>Frankenhooker (1990)>The Blind Dead series (1972-1975)>Bad Taste (1987)>The Lair of the White Worm (1988)>Gothic (1986)>The Devils (1971)>Manhunter (1986)>Phantom of the Paradise (1974)>The Prowler (1981)>Masters of horror (2005 - 2007)>Elves (1989)>Critters (1986)>Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)>Carnosaur (1993)>Pieces (1982)>The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988)>Cube (1997)>Blood Dolls (1999)>Gozu (2003)>Cast a Deadly Spell (1991)>Maximum Overdrive (1986)>Night Flier (1997)>Near Dark (1987)>Shadow of the Vampire (2000)>Stage Fright (1987)
>>214941249My condolences, anon. Here's one for silent era fans including a lot of early Melies shorts (whoever made it also added the infamous train arrival kek).I actually watched Dante's Inferno (1911) recently with a live score and it was excellent; very much a meditative descent into hell. As the first feature-length horror film, I can't imagine what people thought of it back then:https://youtu.be/BRUkyHvsvfg>>214941261I love how the Udo Kier lore dump feels like it's from a different film entirely.
>>214941249>HDD failurenow that's scary
>>214941537>took off Scarecrows (1988)For shame, 4Kskellybro...Also throwing in Wishmaster, at least the first two, and The Dentist 1 and 2, if only because the Lionsgate blu-rays are so mediocre
it's october and it's time to watch something

First watch of October: Necropolis (1987)Pretty enjoyable and oddly erotic B-movie about a reincarnated witch in disgusting 80's NYC>>214941249https://mega.nz/folder/kj5hWI6J#0cyw0-ZdvZKOJW3fPI6RfQ/folder/17gwXTTT
>>214941769Rented this one on VHS back in the beforetimes
>>214941583Will do
Nightmare City (1980) was my official Oct watch.
>>214941876The news station attack had me cracking up.
>>214941876The "ending" of that movie is SO Italian
>>214941888Cut the one girl's nipple right off. I laughed at the airport attack too.>>214941926It might be the most Italian "we dont know how to end this fucking movie" ever.
>>214941537It's strange how few Vincent Price movies there are on 4K.I'd love the Corman-Poe cycle as a 4K box set
Horror is the worst genre of film
>>214941996There are other genres?
>>214941996Worst like "bad," like "phat," right? It's stupid dope, right?
Kino looking first person found footage on it's way.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK2px0nEGlUHits VOD on October 10 so make space in your calendar /ffg/bros
>>214942015No, there is only Kolobos
>>214940995Technically my September 30th movie that bled into October 1st, but this was a fun, quirky alien horror from Full Moon. Not on the level of Terrorvision, but it gives the audience what it wants. Lots of glowing green grossness and some very of-its-time musical segments that are more a time capsule than a parody
>>214942298/scifi/not /hor/
>>214942321It's /scifi/hor/
>>214942201/hor/ yes
>>214942298The music video thing doesn't entirely work but it's charming that it attempts it. But yeah the Full Moon alium goofiness is the best part. Also probably someone with a shrinking fetish wrote the plot.
Probably the spookiest ayylmao film I've ever seen. Had me on edge most of the time, though the plot isn't very good.
>>214941769/hor/ yes
>>214940551I like Candy Corn, fuck the haters.
>>214941537>The Fly (1986)/scifi/not /hor/

>>214942385Spooktober is what most people go with
Oh Lord, this was just terriblebanging end credits theme thoughhttps://youtu.be/UlULcWTSFSE
>>214940234honestly this movie was dope. and had a very unique setting that should be explored way more. I want some fucking amazonian mysteries goddamit.
>>214942403For me,
>>214942422Literally just pushed play on it 10 seconds ago
>>214941603give kino
You'll all hate me fore this...but any more atmospheric kino in the vein of weapons/longlegs?
>>214942430BasedPost your waifu pick when you're done
>>214942414It's solid. Also a rare film with the MC is actually competent because it's a survival novel adaption.
Am I the only one who found a quiet place unwatchable and boring? And I watch a lot of bad of horror that I can sit through, but that was just a slog and turned it off.
>>214942438was looking for chinese horror anyway. it'll go in the cannibal marathon
>>214942497I absolutely despised it. It's so fucking stupid, the monsters are generic shit, they randomly powerscale up and down, all it really had going for it was the silence gimmick which in theater, was actually compelling but it doesn't change the fact the movie sucked ass.
>>214942470cure, kairo, chime, blackcoat's daughter, session 9, messiah of evil
>>214942349now watch no one will save you
>>214942470Weapons is not particularly atmospheric.
VOTE FOR 3 BEST!https://strawpoll.com/PKgl3Rwa9np
>>214940860Angry Orchard is gross. So sugary and it makes people’s breaths smell fucking rancid. Had a girl who was into those and I couldn’t stand being around her mouth in any way, shape or form
>>214942674I would rank them like so...> LTR2 > Hatchet 2 > Hatchet 3 > Redwood1 >> Hatchet >> LTRHatchet is overrated but decent.LTR2 is a massive improvement over 1 (similar case with the Bloody Murder movies)
Kicking off Halloween month with this. I've got Ghostwatch, Trick Or Treat, Out There Halloween Mega Tape and Creepshow 2 lined up for the 31st
VOTE FOR BEST!https://strawpoll.com/7MZ0kB3RBgo
>>214942716Kino
>>214942716Nice. I've got two more to decide on, probably Alien or Halloween being one of them.>Out There Halloween Mega Tape>Abbott and Costello Meet The Killer Boris Karloff
I'll watch anything as long as it has a rating above 5.8 on imdb. Any recommendation? I'll watch it as soon as i get home and post my impressions of it.
>>214942830Deadstream
>>214941537Synapse is already doing a 4k remaster of Frankhooker
>>214942830>I'll watch anything as long as it has a rating above 5.8 on imdbPlease don't hold this as a line in the sand. There are plenty of damn good underrated things that get poor reviews.
>>214941969I imagine Arrow or Shout doing a 4k Vincent Price boxset eventually.
>>214942830Cold PreyMy 3rd favorite slasher after Halloween 4 & 2.https://actvid.rs/movie/watch-cold-prey-full-11207Cold Prey 2 is just as great.3 is a prequel and merely decent.

>murders a guy>should have just kept his ass in the damn basementGreat kino to start with. The War of the Worlds cutaways throughout the film were great. Especially the radio ones though.
>>214943026You can literally imagine Lynch sitting there, thinking to himself "I'll make them dance" for no other reason that you get to make your little dolls do a dance routine for you.
>>214942680But it's got Jason on the can
>>214942984Friendly reminder that Ben was the villain and Cooper was right about everything.
>>214942984I don't get why we were supposed to feel bad about this guy at the end
Starting my October movie a day binge with Ghostwatch the mock-live paranormal segment by the bbc.
Any horror with lots of naked Korean women.Specifically Korean.
>>214943026>>214943062https://youtu.be/ur6uK7E2DvQ
>>214943158Koreans are more prudish than the japanese when it comes to nudity
>>214943172kewl
I don't understand these movies at all
>>214943334She's just a girlStandin in front of another girlWolfin out
reminder that jellos are boring. avoid all argento slop, watch a fulci flick instead
Watched since yesterday>Ring 1 and 2, US versions>28 days later>Wishmaster 1>FrankenhookerI'm also extremely bored of the same chicks being posted literally every day and every October, the same exact shit. I'll post a few random cuties everyday from whatever films I watch
>>214942830AKA Descent into Darkness. It doesn't seem /hor/ at first, but let the movie cook.
>>214943480I liked the black chick from Phantasm III a lot.
>>214943158Not lots, but Thirst is a vampire movie where a girl gets her tits out and armpit licked. You have an axilla fetish?
>>214943480I feel a sudden urge to watch The Ring 2. How was it?
>>214939138you know, sacrifices dont sound so bad nowadays. overpopulated earth, lots of useless eaters, invaders. a cleansing would do our whole race very good. i support bill gate genocide ideas unironically. 500 million people is a good number. imagine a world without jeets, chinamen and africans flooding the western world....
>>214943541It was good, not as good as the first one. First one was a really good bleak mystery horror, the supernatural in the first one feels like something untouchable. The second is more "active". The monster is more actively in the movie and scenes and it has a completely different premise from the first one as well as being a continuation of the first so it still feels fresh even if you watch them back to back. I feel like it's a good combo of movies to watch, if you just want to watch the second one go for it, it's a fun time
>>214943541American Ring 2 is arguably the worst of the franchise.Japanese Ringu 2 could have been the best if they fixed just 1 or 2 specific things. It'd barely worse than Ringu 1 as is.
>>214943630Source?
>>214943638Spiral/Rasen was pretty boring. idk maybe it could be improved but the plot really didn't hit much like the first.
>>214943650believe it or not, Howling 4
>>214942888>>214942915>>214942920>>214942962>>214943502I'll watch them all. Might not finish today but i'll watch them all.
>>214942490Hot damn I loved this, lolCast is stacked with Michael Berryman, Karen Black, Pat Morita, Huntz Hall from the Bowery Boys, the main guy from Hardbodies, and the chick who breastfeeds Jim Carrey in that webmApparently this is the only flick this director did that wasn't XXX, lol. You could tell Rob Zombie was a big fan of this. It's basically House of 1000 Corpses of all the characters were bimbos! For my money Magnolia was the best looking one...
>>214943787But Auntie Lee herself's over the top mommy energy got me going even more
>>214943480will do the same. i'm watching a shit ton of giallo and exploitation this year. jesus franco in particular made so many goddamn movies that it could fill out an entire month's worth and then some if you really wanted to watch his entire filmography. and lina romay is probably in most of them
>>214943799Dayum. Didn't knew Mr. Miyagi that old cracker had such rizz.

>>214944245Big yes
>>214944249So, no.
>>214943660I was talking about the official Ringu 2 that replaced Spiral in continuity.
>>214942830Pic related is a great proto-slasher.It has the nudity and brutality of late 70s/early 80s America slashers but it has the look, vibe & setting of a gothic British Hammer style project.https://actvid.rs/movie/watch-tower-of-evil-full-57289

I just watched Inferno by Argento. I have no idea what I just watched and it's a disappointment compared to Suspiria. I can barely follow what's going on and the characters were barely developed.
>>214944628Honestly, filtered, but I get where you're coming from. Just imagine some Conjuring Universe fan being told Suspiria is great and them being baffled when they finally saw it. Inferno is Argento's purest mood piece. I assume Phenomena is next on your list, you'll like that one better. Man, wait til you get to the BAD Argento movies, lmao
>>214944675based inferno enjoyer
>>214940133The fact these threads run all year long is off-putting. However as it is the spooky month officially now I can post here. I think I will start this year's october in the same way as last year. With Scream. There's just something incredibly comfy about it even though It does not have any supernatural elements to it. Honestly have no idea what I'm going to watch afterwards but I will probably not be going much past the 80's again.
>>214944439The Flesh and Blood Show is another great one from that year
>>214940234Great monster flick>>214940561Now this dude 'weens!
