I'm having to work with the management of my local store to try to see what kind of pumpkin beers their distributor can bring in. I hope they have nicer options than Elysian stuff, but the pumpkin pack is classic.

In the mean time, it's cheap red wine and absinthe. It's a nice coincidence that the best Bota box wine happens to come in a Halloweeny design

You're not entirely wrong lmao, but that isn't a bad thing. A coworker of mine grew up with old school Luthern parents in rural Nebraska.
Him and his brothers were allowed to trick r treat, but they weren't allowed scary costumes (had to be shit like power rangers or superheroes)
Anyway for him Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Gremlins and something wicked this way comes were pretty much the only spooky/horror adjacent thing he was allowed to watch.

My condolences, anon. Here's one for silent era fans including a lot of early Melies shorts (whoever made it also added the infamous train arrival kek).
I actually watched Dante's Inferno (1911) recently with a live score and it was excellent; very much a meditative descent into hell. As the first feature-length horror film, I can't imagine what people thought of it back then:

Technically my September 30th movie that bled into October 1st, but this was a fun, quirky alien horror from Full Moon.
Not on the level of Terrorvision, but it gives the audience what it wants. Lots of glowing green grossness and some very of-its-time musical segments that are more a time capsule than a parody

you know, sacrifices dont sound so bad nowadays. overpopulated earth, lots of useless eaters, invaders. a cleansing would do our whole race very good. i support bill gate genocide ideas unironically. 500 million people is a good number. imagine a world without jeets, chinamen and africans flooding the western world....

It was good, not as good as the first one. First one was a really good bleak mystery horror, the supernatural in the first one feels like something untouchable. The second is more "active". The monster is more actively in the movie and scenes and it has a completely different premise from the first one as well as being a continuation of the first so it still feels fresh even if you watch them back to back. I feel like it's a good combo of movies to watch, if you just want to watch the second one go for it, it's a fun time

American Ring 2 is arguably the worst of the franchise.

Japanese Ringu 2 could have been the best if they fixed just 1 or 2 specific things. It'd barely worse than Ringu 1 as is.

Hot damn I loved this, lol
Cast is stacked with Michael Berryman, Karen Black, Pat Morita, Huntz Hall from the Bowery Boys, the main guy from Hardbodies, and the chick who breastfeeds Jim Carrey in that webm
Apparently this is the only flick this director did that wasn't XXX, lol. You could tell Rob Zombie was a big fan of this. It's basically House of 1000 Corpses of all the characters were bimbos!
For my money Magnolia was the best looking one...

will do the same. i'm watching a shit ton of giallo and exploitation this year. jesus franco in particular made so many goddamn movies that it could fill out an entire month's worth and then some if you really wanted to watch his entire filmography. and lina romay is probably in most of them

Pic related is a great proto-slasher.

It has the nudity and brutality of late 70s/early 80s America slashers but it has the look, vibe & setting of a gothic British Hammer style project.

I just watched Inferno by Argento. I have no idea what I just watched and it's a disappointment compared to Suspiria. I can barely follow what's going on and the characters were barely developed.
>>
>>214944628
Honestly, filtered, but I get where you're coming from. Just imagine some Conjuring Universe fan being told Suspiria is great and them being baffled when they finally saw it. Inferno is Argento's purest mood piece. I assume Phenomena is next on your list, you'll like that one better. Man, wait til you get to the BAD Argento movies, lmao

The fact these threads run all year long is off-putting. However as it is the spooky month officially now I can post here. I think I will start this year's october in the same way as last year. With Scream. There's just something incredibly comfy about it even though It does not have any supernatural elements to it. Honestly have no idea what I'm going to watch afterwards but I will probably not be going much past the 80's again.

First 4 of very many horror movies to come this month. As always, here's my completely pointless brief thoughts on them:

>The Blackwell Ghost
FF #209. I really enjoyed this to the point I could call it paranormal investigation kino. The story about the house, Blackwell, the well, etc. all just hooked me from the start. There are some comedic moments, which help keep the tone from being too serious.
>The Blackwell Ghost 2
FF #210. Not as great as the first, but still good. Treats the first movie as an actual documentary released by him. This picks up a year later where he goes back to the house to investigate further about Mrs. Blackwell and the haunted house. Expands further on the victims and Mrs. Blackwell, which fleshes it out more.
>The Blackwell Ghost 3
FF #211. It's a step-down from 2 and drags at points. It seemingly has nothing to do with Mrs. Blackwell and instead about a serial killer who kill 18 girls and the investigation into his house. Not much really happens, and at times it seems he's just so fucking tired of all the bullshit in the retro-style house, especially the phone ringing at 2:47am. Continues in 4, so hoping that comes out swinging.
>Anatomia Extinction
This was pretty fucking poor. It's a body horror by gore legend and style creator Yoshihiro Nishimura. Themes in the movie would be reworked 10+ years later into his masterpiece Tokyo Gore Police. Found this to be boring overall. Only recommend it if you love TGP and want to see the early foundation for it.

i'm not sure YOU actually watched the movie
unless you think a man wearing a workers uniform that doesn't even carry a white sounding name on it to get into another person's home or telling a clerk that you're picking up some stuff to take care for a newly delivered baby comes off as being "masculine" and "toxic"
