They're both in my favourite slasher movie and I fap to both probably the same amount so have no metric to cast judgment in favour of one or the other... If on any given day I wake up on the left side of the bed I am a Kidderbobidder, if I wake up on the right I am a Husseyhound.

it's been too long to remember specifics but I remember this being the final straw for me swearing off "artsy" looking genre movies for awhile lol
>>
I want to really like this movie, but the racism angle really kills it from being almost perfect. I love how the story is told, even if the photos feel a bit contrived, but the angle of "erm, actually its racism, this town is built on racism which is why they executed this guy" is fucking retarded. There's already enough evidence to convict him when he's the sole survivor of the town massacre, you dont need to suddenly pivot the movie from the main plot to suddenly be like "the town has history with the KKK!" As a spic myself, that shit feels so fucking preachy and for faggots, but other than that I have to admit the rest was enjoyable.
>>
>>214951374

That's not enough evidence to convict somebody though.
There have been plenty of cases in real life where someone has been the sole survivor of something and had nothing to do with it.

I think the photos and the unexplainable circumstances that come from the picturs themselves are enough to say he did it even if its very obvious he didnt, could have just gone with an incompetent system, you dont need the racism angle at all

I would say it’s not worth it, all the Conjurings past the first are just comfy family dramas with jumpscares interspersed throughout, because Wilson and Farmiga were so popular with fans when the first came out. This movie is the least scare-focused, I would say the majority of the film is about them getting ready for their daughter’s wedding and welcoming her fiancé into the family. The family that’s being haunted get almost zero focus.
If you aren’t already invested in the protagonists I’d say you will probably think, “wtf is this soap opera shit?”

gonjiam haunted asylum is my favourite horror movie that ive watched in recent memory

i really love horror. its always been my favourite movie genre. but recently i havent been able to truly enjoy it. i dont know what it is its either that the characters are given way too much space to express themselves and develop throughout the film so the combination of flick horror with serious characters doesnt mix or maybe i just dont buy it.

anything like gonjiam?

My thoughts precisely, the first 30-40 minutes or so were genuinely exceptional, well shot, natural acting, extremely tense, despite some strange editing decisions that didn't quite fit the tone. The rest was a meandering mess for the most part, some vague aspiration to explore interesting concepts but ultimately fizzled out... I wanted to love it, I really did.

>extremely tense,
Yea new movies rarely get this right anymore. It definitely felt like a good direction after the shitty second movie, but then it went up its own ass by the end. Also the cliff hanger was horrendous, the tribe that found the kid looked ridiculous. I wouldn't even say the ending was a mess, more like it was too scatter brained, and the point that it served was some vague shit about death and what not. I don't think killing off the Swede right after killing his character development was good if the point was showing how randomly/quickly you can die.
>I wanted to love it, I really did.

There was a spin-off show, Three's a Crowd, about Jack and Vicky after he moved out, but it only lasted one season. It is cool seeing him play a killer robot in that episode. I wasn't a big Janet fan, felt like a serious stick in the mud character that wasn't as attractive as Chrissy, but she does have kind of a Joan Jett look.
