Greg Nicotero confirms they had him redesign the new Jason mask purely for copyright reasons

>They made changes on the mask so that they could copyright it, so that they could own it, because it’s not just a typical hockey mask.

>tilted “angry face” square eye holes

Just a bunch of ugly changes for the sake of change. The circular eye holes were the biggest factor in making Jason’s gaze look scary. Now the mask looks like something you’d see in a Jason cartoon.

Yeah it just doesnt make sense as a homage because the entire movie is a near exact remake of the original with slightest plot changes here and there.

its not necessary to add more "homage".

If there is an option to turn off the black and white then its fine, but kind of cringe otherwise.
if I wanted black and white I'll just watch the original.

Ahhhh anons help me out

There's an old (60s/70s) movie that starts in a black and white flashback to 1945 Nazis having a baby and killing it, then goes on to be in colour where it's current day (so like 60s or 70s) and this rich family starts dying off turns out to be prodigal not dead son I think just bumping them off one of them dies from a heart condition because she's upset her crush is a half brother or something and also killing off her family methodically I might be wrong about them being related but if any anon can tell me the name, I'll totally suck your dick (no homo)

Kind of glad I skipped watching Hell House LLC: Lineage in theaters because now I'll be comfy at home instead.
I only pick up Shudder in October and watch anything new that I haven't seen since last year. Sure, some movies disappear between one October to the next, but I don't give a shit.
Shudder really thinks people will stay on their service for Joe Blob (retire already and take Darcy with you) and transvestite shit alone, it's kind of amazing.

Which /hor/ comics should get accurate adaptions?

I always liked The Tenth, for a more recent options I think The Midnite Show would be super easy to adapt.

At least we got the REC films, but I really hope that VHS Halloween ends up being fun found-footage slop better than ‘99/‘84 at least.

DeNiro is such a fucking snowflake that he needs to have "special appearance by" just for "gracing" a film with his presence. What a hack.

Excellent. Here is a fun story for your effort. Danielle Harris met John Carpenter years after starring in four different Halloween films. She said he didn't even know who she was and all he gave a shit about was getting home to play video games.

most "talent" is only hard work. some people catch on faster, some dont, but if youre having fun with something and you're persistent, you will eventually be good at it as well. never give up, anon. i only started to take it seriously this year while mostly doodling every now and then all my 34 years before, wasting away """"talent""""

Similar story happened when the girl who played Laurie in the RZ remakes met Jamie Lee at some party and she said that Jamie couldn't care less and didn't know who she was and talked shit on the remakes so she was very upset. Her and Danielle Harris have or had a podcast where they talked about it since she Danielle was at the event too

I think people have an affinity towards certain things. Those that don't won't reach those same levels while also putting in far great work to learn it.

sure, but art is very deep and broad at the same time. one can have a talent for portraits but be really bad at drawing form imagination or comics. one can draw really good people, but bad at objects, geometry, landscapes, colours etc. i dont think there is a "general" affinity for drawing and art, otherwise i would agree. just go out there and do stuff and stick with what works. can't win the jackpot if you dont play the slots, you know?

>Those that don't won't reach those same levels while also putting in far great work to learn it.
Nah, most people will be impressed by skill. The only affinity needed is the desire to put in work. It doesn't even matter where the desire comes from. It's why regionally you can tell the average standard of certain skills, because there's either incentives to get good or disincentives to staying shit. There's a lot of overrepresented demographics with immense skills in anything that demands skill, and it usually boils down to that demographic had a choice between getting really fucking good at this one thing or dying in grinding poverty.
eg, If you got to an art school in western Europe, representation isn't going to have as much unassisted skill as you'll get from the ex soviet block. That's because in the west you can do a lot of conceptual art, but in ex soviet schools if you cannot make a forgery you cannot paint. Western schools used have that but focus changes and it isn't a live or die skill where you fail painting because it's the wrong tone of blue in the background. Likewise, russian programmers used be sought after for tight code. This isn't because they're more skilled, it's because the soviet system gave everyone about six minutes in the computer room each to write their whole program so you had to be able to do it on paper first. Russians aren't more naturally skilled, they just couldn't afford to waste those six minutes if they wanted to pass.
