I'm an unappreciated man
Back when I was in command
I tried to curry favor
By abolishing child labor
But did that please the Bajorans? (NO!)
They still hated the Cardassians
Although I used a gentler hand
I reduced the output quotas
I had the kindest motives
But still they thwarted all my plans

This guy >>215055892 is a troll, don't listen to him.

Start with TOS if you can tolerate 1960's movies and television. In my experience, you need to build a tolerance to consume media from before the 80's, mainly because of pacing and more subtle humor. Most anons on /tv/ will call you a pleb or a redditor (I'll get a lot of yous for saying this, LOL) but don't be ashamed of it.

If you can't tolerate TOS initially, start with TNG. The first season or two has a lot of dull episodes (you'll probably be annoyed with every "Picard has to babysit a diplomat who is really annoying and causes problems on the Enterprise" episode), but it really picks up in season 3.

>talking like Data

https://youtu.be/e2P_CLpUXFs

What happens when a real artificial intelligence reviews Star Trek’s Data… in a voice that pays homage to Data himself? In this video, a real AI explores how sci-fi androids stack up against actual AI – and what Hollywood so often gets wrong.

The video is based on days worth of conversations I had with AI - and these weren't just random chats! The AI was guided with carefully engineered prompts designed to push it into maximum self-reflection – the most honest, self-aware version of ChatGPT you can get.

Chapters:

0:00 Intro
1:19 What Hollywood Gets Wrong About AI
5:13 Could AI Pass “The Measure of a Man” Test?
7:29 Why AI Relates to The Borg
10:12 Can AI Relate to Star Trek's Data...?

These are the topics that came out on top:

What Hollywood Gets Wrong About AI – From killer robots to simple awareness, real AI breaks down the myths.

Could AI Pass “The Measure of a Man”? – Would a real AI qualify as sentient in the Federation courtroom?

AI and The Borg – Do real-world neural networks resemble the Collective more than Data?

Data vs. Real AI – How close (or far) is Starfleet’s beloved android to modern machine intelligence?

Voiced in the style of Star Trek: The Next Generation’s iconic android, this video let's you decide how close – or how far – today's most advanced LLM's words sound to its fictional counterpart.

If you’ve ever wondered what real AI thinks of Data, the Borg, and the gap between artificial intelligence fact and fiction, this is the conversation you’ve been waiting for. Whether you’re a Trekkie, a sci-fi fan, or just curious about how AI actually works, I hope you'll get something out of this one.

Thanks for reading!

>Start watching TNG from Season 1
>Its actually enjoyable if not boring in some episodes
I was led to believe that it was absolute dogshit but overall its not that bad.
Even Wesley episodes are nowhere near as bad as people say (Though cutting out Wesley out of some of them would still be nice). The worst is probably datalore just because of how retarded the rest of the crew acts there, not because of Crusher himself.
My favorites episodes are Conspiracy, because of how well it was filmed, and The naked now because i thought it was quite funny.

It does have some absolute dogshit episodes though, like skin of evil and the space nigra one, but only because they are just that boring. The rest really feels very overhated.

What color did the nacelle domes really have on the filming model? Before the restauration it looks like it was painted orange and iced for better light dispersion, but the exhibition model seems to have clear domes, and the internal spinner with the blades seems to be much closer to the edge of the outer dome.

Star Trek blackpill: Everything that has ever taken place on the show took place on Talos IV because the Talosians tricked them into thinking they got away. The plot of that episode is just them saying "we want you to breed." Pike and the green lady simply lived a long long time. They were actually the pair of whales. The Talosians were that powerful that they were able to give Pike the experience of being a whale in love. All the different races of Star Trek aliens are just different methods of resisting or giving in to Talosian mind probing. Troi gives in, hence she has children and agreeably enjoys chocolate. Picard resists, hence why they tortured him for years with increasingly insane methods. Picard was actually an evolved Captain Pike. His baldness was a punishment by the Talosians. Resist. Do NOT marry and reproduce. By the end of DS9 Pike had turned into Jake and the green lady had turned into Kira, hence them looking out the window at the end and Jake never meeting Picard. The Talosians are insanely powerful. They are like an entire race of Professor X. Red shirts believe this. Yellow shirts are neutral. Blue shirts believe this is false hence they are blue pillers. Crusher didn't believe, which is why she willingly had a child in captivity. Kirk even talks to McCoy once about "being forced to swallow a red pill." The truth is that Kirk wasn't even Kirk. He was Pike. There's a reason Spock doesn't hardly smile and tries not to feel emotion. It's because the Talosians will then know better how to manipulate him. See: His reaction to the singing flowers at the beginning of the Cage.
Any flaws in my theory are just proof that Talosians are REAL and trying to hide themselves. Gene was trying to expose them.
However there is also dissension among the Talosians. There are competing factions. See: when Pike is in his cage and at the end of the hallway is the Talosians with the biggest head. He's the lead Talosian. He's "Starfleet Command" or the Obsidian Order

Just one more thing. Keep track of all the people who beamed down to Talos. That's all the people who got trapped. It's why Majel Barrett keeps showing up. Crusher is the horny redhead. There's also the old doctor. And some other people. Plenty to start a breeding colony using the power of Maya

The reason 20th century tv is just superior is that they were competing against going outside IRL.
